Kylo Ren. His redemption was poorly done, andâŠyes, he shouldâve lived, but not for some awful romance plotline. He shouldâve lived so that he could do the hard work of atoning.
Or they shouldâve gone full-fledged villain with him. BecauseâŠthey were going for Vader parallels, but they did NOT stick the landing at all.
23. Unpopular character you love?
Nora West-Allen! I understand the criticisms about her, which is why I only write her around the age of 18 (since imo thatâs what she shouldâve been), and there are some inconsistencies in what she knows about Thawne, but aside from thatâŠidk I found her compelling and I love the Westallen family đ„°
(I also think sheâs great in s7, even if I hated the Godspeed arc and that season as a whole)
26. Most shippable character?
Probably Iris honestly, sheâs shippable with a bunch of characters đ notably Barry, Eddie, Kendra, and Caitlin!
Ciscoâs also pretty shippable: Barry, Cynthia, Kendra, Kamilla (even Lisa, if youâre so inclined)
27. Least shippable character?
Thereâs a few that could fall into this category (Azula, Ozai, etc), but definitely Thawne. The thing he had with Meena in s8 was sweet, but they had to turn him very OOC to make it work, and we only knew this version of Thawne for an episode or two, so it wasnât even enough time to get attached to them.

Kendra turned at the sound of Irisâ voice, nearly knocking over the chairs she had just neatly set on the tables.
âI donât miss that.â Iris grinned and continued walking in.
âYou know I was pretty sure I locked that doorâŠâ Kendra began, raising an eyebrow at Iris who sheepishly held up her keys.
âI didnât exactly return it when I quit.â Iris admitted, âSometimes I just needed a quiet place to think.â
âLike tonight?â
âNoâŠtonight I had better things in mind.â Iris reached out to catch Kendraâs hand and tugged lightly, leading her to the couch in the corner of the shop that customers were always fighting over. Iris flopped onto the couch, letting go of Kendraâs hand and then patted the seat next to her, âI havenât gotten to see you much lately.â
âWell the time travel puts a bit of a damper on that,â Kendra admitted, they were only stopping by in 2016 and sheâd returned to a place she had felt comfortable in. After life threatening mission pouring coffee was the tamest thing she could think of.
âYouâre going to have to tell me how thatâs going at some point.â Iris looked far too interested, like she had sensed a story and was never going to let it go until she found out the whole of it. It made her look far too cute in Kendraâs opinion and it was best to distract her.
âHm, maybe another time, I thought you had other plans tonight.â Kendra said and Iris laughed in her agreement.
âI did,â She slipped an arm around Kendraâs neck and pulled her closer until their lips were just barely touching. Kendra smiled as she closed the space between them to complete the kiss, she nearly laughed when she realized that Iris tasted like coffee. She had thought sheâd be sick of it given her job but on Iris it was completely welcome.
She reached up to cup Iris cheek as she pulled back just a little so they could both catch their breaths. âI really love the way you think.â Kendra stated, still grinning widely.
âI thought you would.â Iris looked proud of herself, âI just wanted to give you some incentive to keep coming back to this time and wow that is weird to say out loud.â
Kendra bit her lip in trying not to laugh at the bizarreness of the lives they lived, she was hardly one to talk about it. âI might need some more incentive.â Kendra said slyly, ducking her head just a little and Iris pulled her back in for another kiss.
Sheâd had a lot of first kisses in her lifetimes, theyâd blurred and been lost to her memories, but Kendra knew that this one she would remember forever.

When Iris West started running an unofficial fan blog for Chay-Ara, she only vaguely held onto hope of one day meeting the singer. Never in her wildest dreams would she have imagined that sheâd learn Chay-Araâs real name and be able to spend time with her because Kendra ended up being a new coworker at Jitters.
âIâm pretty sure the only reason our relationship lasted four hundred years is because we kept dying before we could actually have a conversation.â
Kendraâs voice is thrumming with annoyance, noticeable even through the flat, tinny pitch given by the cell phone. Iris rises from her desk (makes a small, âstay, itâs goodâ wave to let Linda, halfway out of her chair to follow, know that itâs not some Flash-related disaster) and slips outside, where she can talk in reasonable peace. âWhatâs up?â she asks, leaning back against the wall.
âHeâs such an asshole, Iris. I thought it was just that he was thrown off by remembering our past lives when I didnât, but heâs like this all the time. You know what he said to me and Sara yesterday? âYou two should stay back while we handle this.ââ She sighs, and Iris can imagine her shrugging as she adds, âI mean, his abs are nice. Thatâs about the extent of his redeeming qualities.â
Iris laughs, covers her mouth with her hand even though Kendraâs not around to see the goofiness in her grin. She forces it away, smothers the laughter, composes herself. (She hates it, that the cute, normal girl she met at Jitters turned out to a) have a thing for Cisco, b) have a literal (admittedly dick-ish) soulmate, and c) be involved in the craziness of Central even more intimately than Iris was.) âItâs something?â she offers, and her façade cracks just enough to let another giggle through.
âBarely,â Kendra says, dry and unamused, and then thereâs an awkward sort of pause before she says, âI have a really weird favor to ask.â
âIâd say âanything for you, Hawkgirl,â but Iâm a bit too wily to agree to things without knowing what they are first.â
âWell, obviously Iâm of the opinion that soulmates are crap/Carterâs awful and things are just really, really weird with Cisco, so⊠youâre kind of my next closest friend. Which I know is a little weird since we donât know each other beyond texting about coffee and occasionally calling to bitch about the various misogynistic superheroes in our livesââ
âThat reminds me, I met Green Arrow again.â
Kendra laughs. (Iris gives in to the goofy grin because obviously it is here to stay.) âYeah, actually, if you agree to this, youâll be seeing him again. At his wedding. Which for whatever reason I have been invited to, am entirely dreading, and would really appreciate having someone other than my team members to hang out with during?â
âAre you asking me to be your friend date?â This is an awful idea. But the grin is now accompanied by butterflies because all she can see is Kendra, freckled and gorgeous and sweet and badass, dancing in Irisâs arms with a stunning dress on, and Iris has no willpower. âBecause if you are, I am totally in.â
***
Kendra grabs Irisâs hand, giving a vague apology as she drags her away from what seems to be a pleasant, intelligent conversation with the Canary sisters. (IE, exactly opposite the one she just had with Carter, who only just realized she brought someone other than him.) Her heart is pounding, her fingers sweaty (Iris, I am so sorry), and she canât believe sheâs put them all in this position.
âBring a friend to the wedding.â It had sounded so simple, so smart. She would have someone to talk to at an event where she knew practically no one and had no idea how to talk to the rest, since this was a strictly no-superhero-talk shindig and she was an awful liar.
The problem was that it was actually âBring the girl you kind of maybe have a huge crush on to the wedding that your short-tempered and fairly jealous soulmate is also at.â
âSomething wrong?â Iris asks, because sheâs perceptive (fine, so Kendraâs not being subtle, but itâs still true) and kind-hearted and wow, she does not deserve this.
Kendra tugs Iris into the quietest corner she can find and takes a deep breath to compose herself, hand still tightly clutching Irisâs. The breath doesnât work. She blurts out, âCarter and I just had a fight, and I may have told him this is an actual date.â
Iris blinks. Kendra fidgets, adds, âI figured you should know, so when Hawkman tries to kill you and Hawkgirl defends your honor and Oliver Queen is accidentally outed as Green Arrow when he shoots us both with tranqs, you have some context.â
âDramatic,â Iris manages. She looks a little floored.
Kendra makes a face. âSadly not out of the realm of possibility. I donât know if you noticed, but we superheroes tend to be veryâŠâ she makes a gesture with her hands that somehow encompasses the over-dramatics, self-sacrifices, gizmos, and leather suits that have somehow become her life.
âOh, I noticed.â Iris tilts her head to the side, eyes narrowed in a way that is both very aggressive and very hot. âYou know, I think Iâm going to deserve something for putting up with all of this 'soulmateâ drama.â
âAbsolutely. Anything. This is ridiculous, and Iâm sorry I dragged you into it, andââ
âHow about an actual date?â
Kendraâs brain screeches to a halt. âWhat?â
âIf Iâm going to face the ex-multiple-life-mateâs ire one way or anotherâŠâ Iris pulls their still-entwined hands up between them, presses her lips to the back of Kendraâs with this smolder in her eyes that sends Kendraâs heart into overdrive. âIâd like to have earned it, you know?â
âAre you asking if I want to be your girlfriend?â This is an awful idea. But then Iris drags her down for a kiss, and her lips are soft and she tastes like coffee and the little cheesecake bites theyâve been stealing en masse off the buffet table. Kendra pulls back, blinks a few times to refocus her eyes, feels her face split into a grin. âBecause if you are, I am totally in.â

The alarm goes off and Irisâ hand reaches out to grab her phone and turn it off because itâs much too early after a night of helping to run around the city to stop a man that Cisco named âMirror Masterâ.
She dozes for a little while longer until thereâs a sudden gust of air from the windows opening.
âArenât you supposed to be up by now?â The bed dips as Kendra leans on it but Irisâ feigns ignorance.
âIris.â Fingers ghost around her stomach and she bites the inside of her cheek to stop the laughter.
âI-ris.â Kendra elongates her name, rests her cheek against Irisâ stomach and her fingers now trail up Irisâ arm.
âI canât be here for very long you know,â Kendra sighs and she sounds a little tired, âI left Sara alone with Snart and Rory and Iâm afraid theyâll start another bar brawl.â
It makes her reminiscent of a week ago, when Kendra flew in and told the story through gales of laughter until Iris kissed her as a promise of making a different memory for that day.
âCome on, I brought coffee.â Kendra practically sings.
Iris opens her eyes.
âMy hero,â She says playfully, laughing when she looks down to see Kendra pout.
âSo coffee gets you up, not my being here.â
Iris sits up, jostling Kendra from her stomach and when she changes into a seated position next to Iris she leans in to press a quick kiss to Kendraâs cheek.
âYouâre both welcome and appreciated.â A smile plays across her lips, âYouâre an angel bringing coffee.â
âWing jokes arenât going to stop any time soon are they?â
She starts to remember things slowly at first â the name of a flower, dark hair that falls around a blurry face that Kendra longs to push back, laughter against her skin and her name said with love âthen all at once it hits her and she slams her hands into the wall and curses reincarnation for lifetimes without Iris.
AU
Maybe following the mysterious new archeologist at Central Museum for a story hadnât turned out exactly as planned what with jumping on a plane and getting involved in some Indiana Jones adventure but Iris couldnât deny that she wasnât having fun with Kendra along the way.
Crack
Iris had seen some strange things since metahumans started popping up but by far her girlfriend building a nest out of actual twigs was beating them all out â she just hoped Cisco didnât find out and declare a âlove nestâ.
Future Fic
Kendra spun Iris around their living room floor in celebration of her newly won Pulitzer â she knew it was only a matter of time before Iris got one.
First Time
She literally sweeps Iris off her feet, diving down to save her from the latest metahuman attack and Iris gasps in surprise and wraps her arms around Kendraâs neck as she holds her close, what Kendra isnât expecting is Iris pelting her with questions and declaring an exclusive interview right after the dangerâs dealt with.
Fluff
âI bet I could make a pillow out of your feathers,â Iris murmurs sleepily when she curls against Kendra who just came back in and hasnât had the time to slip her wings off before collapsing on the sofa; Kendra mumbles something that might be agreement but falls asleep before she can really think about it.
Humour
âIf you donât give me back my laptop Iâm changing your name to âAngry Birdâ in my next article.â
Hurt/Comfort
Irisâ hands are cool against her skin and Kendra shudders at the change, making Iris stop to look at her carefully until Kendra smiles; she knows in a few hours Iris will have her bandaged up and in bed with soup and her favourite shows on â a break from life threatening crisis only minutes before.
Smut
Their legs tangle together beneath the sheets and Kendra reaches out to drag her hand down Irisâ back, pushing her closer and making Irisâ breath hitch and stutter and she can see the sudden spark in Irisâ eyes and the challenge within that she readily accepts.
UST
Irisâ fingers stray too long when she takes the cup from Kendra and she has to bite the inside of her cheek to make herself move away, brushing past Kendra and hoping she didnât see the way Irisâ pulse jumped whenever Kendra was around.

Her new apartment was great for working. She was just outside the city so it mostly stayed quiet, and the balcony with a view didnât hurt either when inspiration ran dry. A view she should have been enjoying right now instead of being hold up on her couch with a blanket around her shoulders, her laptop, and a bag of Cheetos keeping her legs warm.
Iris was doing too much again. Her new investigative piece on the practices at Mercury Labs, and itâs connections to Brie Larvanâs and Harrison Wellsâ-well Eobardâs, ultimate breakdowns were wearing her patience and resolve thin, but she needed to know. There had to be something everyone missed. Â A cause for this and she was going to find it. She should have left it at the office and she knew it, but she couldnât stop herself from one more page, then one more revision. She was so close to getting that breakthrough story and ultimately her Pulitzer, so every source and lead had to be checked and rechecked.
She had just reached into the open bag for one more Cheeto when she heard the unmistakable flapping sound of her girlfriend, Kendraâs, wings.
âDrop the Cheetos, West. I could hear that bag crinkling from my watch post on the waterfront.â
Irisâ eyes rolled involuntarily at her girlfriendâs teasing words, even though with her enhanced hearing she was probably telling the truth.
âWell, hello to you too, babe. Slow night?â
Looking up at Kendraâs smiling face and leather clad form, however, caused Irisâ eyes to go from a roll to a sparkle, fully ready for mischief.
âIt was. Barry and Cisco seem to have things quiet so I took the opportunity to come check on you. How hot is that laptop?â
Iris suddenly looked everywhere else but Kendra. Â She knew it was coming, and she knew it had been at least four hours of nonstop work since sheâd gotten home from CCPN. Maybe it would help if she only told her two?
âJust a little hot, really. I promise Iâll take a break for real food soon.â She adjusted her laptop just so and looked up at Kendra again, hoping she didnât give too much away as she gave a quick smile.
Kendra knew how this would go and she let Iris know as much with a raised brow and smack of her lips.
âIâm gonna cook you something, a nice stir fry maybe or how about some macaroni and cheese?â
The pout Iris gave in response was epic.
âWhy not pizza or oooh maybe call in something Thai!â
âNo madam, we will not. You need something substantial and besides, I want to cook for you.â
Kendra went to shrug off her leather jacket and wings when she felt Iris at her side, her hands quick to make her pause her movements. She could feel her wings spread at her touch.
âIf you think you can change my mind, West-â
Kendraâs next words were cut off by Irisâ own. Looking down into her warm brown eyes, she smiled. Knowing whatever she said next, sheâd have to comply.
âCome hold me first. I wonât protest anymore to the cooking I promise, just come hold me first.â
Kendra definitely had no problem agreeing to this request, and she wrapped her arms around Iris in an instant before taking her back to her spot on the couch. Â As Central Cityâs night sky filled with stars and the breeze from the waterfront turned cold, Kendra and Irisâ embrace quickly became nothing but warmth.
