reading the crumpled notes littered around his old Midgardian apartment pulled at something within the trickster's chest. how many of his friends and lovers had he left here to dabble in the far realms? to avoid the Mad Titan? to avoid becoming a crux in the weaving tapestry of fate? how long had he been running from it? perhaps as long as Odin had been seeking reprieve from Ragnarök. delaying the inevitable was an inherited trait, perhaps, even from an adopted father.

         no, its by no means chilly. a gentle breeze is all that he feels, but its the kind that works its way under your collar, skims over the base of your neck, and raises goosebumps up to the skin. tony appears staunch in his insistence that he can do very well with only a suit jacket and a well-buttoned shirt underneath to weather the elements with, and on most days, that would hold true. you wouldn’t have been able to tell otherwise, what with the wide strides to his gait and the general air of weighted authority, of all-knowing omnipotence.

Ugh I only have three ships (not counting AUs and ships with NPCs) for Vivian and I love them all equally.  So um I’ll talk about my oldest one?  

Vice wasn’t supposed to happen.  Vivian and @icekingloki were supposed to have a broship with benefits, and that would be the end of it.  Just sex and some camaraderie, and lots of Ice pissing Vivian off and making paperwork for her.  No pesky feelings at all.  SatanFish and I were in absolute agreement about that.  

Only they’d fight, and it would get emotional, and their making up would be even worse because they’d be honest and open with each other (before the obligatory make up sex of course)?  And they started getting jealous of the other having other sexual partners?  And then they agreed to be exclusive and it was sort of this massive deal for both of them that they never really talked about the implication of (which was the point where SatanFish and I looked at each other and said ‘look I don’t want to push a ship but I think this is a ship’ to each other)?  Until one night Vivian admitted that she was Ice’s ‘always’ and Ice said he was hers and then they next morning they wouldn’t talk about it because holy shit that was sort of a massive commitment better to pretend nothing happened?  And then Ice offered Vivian a golden apple?!  And then finally almost a year after we started RPing them together they actually said ‘I love you’ to each other (and immediately tried to cover it up with sex because gods forbid these two idiots actually talk about their gods damned feelings without a fight that threatens to tear them apart precipitating it)?!

And I love Vice so fucking much.  There’s elements of TaserTricks, there’s elements of Black Frost, but on the whole, it’s entirely unique to Vivian and Ice.  Neither one of them is out to ‘fix’ the other.  Neither one of them is out to change the other; Ice still makes it a point to play pranks on Vivian and make her life at work difficult, and Vivian has no expectation that he’ll stop just because he cares about her.  He is who he is and she accepts that.  And yet Ice is wholly supportive and accommodating of Vivian, seeing greatness in her that she doesn’t see herself, and more than willing to give her everything he can to keep her happy and stable.  He sees her as his equal, which, if Vivian knew, would be the biggest ego boost she’s ever received (the fact that he remains interested in her at all is a pretty sizable ego boost).  

 Coulson had been pretty good at keeping his word so far as Devani hadn't needed it. Promises weren't the same as deals. She flew for them as long as they supplied her the fuel, but she fought on her own terms. He merely gave her backup. A fire breathing lizard remained a force to be reckoned with which gave her significant protection. Humans didn't always run and she enjoyed the shocked faces. Devani never crossed the border into arrogance-she just had plenty of faith in her own abilities. Until steel caught her wings on a dive to take out a gunner and she went down. She didn't know if it was on purpose and if she was dealing with a real threat or if it was accident. Either way she didn't want to find out.

 More than displeased, she was close to burning through restraints with the heat coming off her when her pilot light went out. Fire was never her last resort, usually it was her first which she had unleashed upon her descent. Like a crocodile, she had plenty of bite force but not much opening power. Her anxiety didn't set in until nightfall when it was past her time to take meds and when she was starting to wonder if this was her end.
