PREFACE: It is 2018. Harry and Louis have not seen each other since they broke up in 2016.

Louis decides to secretly attend Harry’s show in Chile to watch the boy he was once in love with years ago. He doesn’t want to make a scene or meet up with Harry. He just wants to enjoy the show and leave. He might also want to feel the vibration of Harry’s voice echo through the room and feel the energy of the crowd pulsate through the arena. He missed that feeling. The electricity in the air is rushing through his veins but he hates it at the same time. It is taking him back to the old days where he was able to stand feet away from Harry on stage and could steal painful glances of each other. The moments are still unforgettable and shake Louis to the core still today. Harry’s always had an unexplainable grip on him. Louis can’t stand to think about it. It is unbearable. But at the same time, it’s a feeling he would never wish to forget and maybe that is just the reason why Louis made a trip here to see him. Louis sits in a dimly lit VIP room, alone, and stares down at the stage where Harry sings and dances and prances and spreads the love that Louis wished Harry still poured over him each night. Louis lights a cigarette at that thought and sighs. He stands and thinks about leaving. At that moment, Louis decidedly looks down at Harry one last time. One final time. And there he is looking up at Louis too. And if that doesn’t take all of Louis’ breath, he doesn’t know what else would. He was not expecting Harry to find him in the dim light and crowded arena. Harry had caught him. They were making eye contact, Harry looking taken aback. He paused in the middle of If I Could Fly and stared up in complete stillness. The audience goes quiet and looks around confusedly, but Harry couldn’t take his eyes off the VIP box where a certain familiar someone stood peering down at him. Louis figured he should break the tension and look away, but a grip, that grip that Harry had over him, was unbreakable. Harry took a breath, the microphone picked up the sound of his inhale, and that was Louis’ reminder that he hadn’t breathed the entire time either, so that was his cue to also finally take a breath of his own. Louis lifted his hand and gave Harry a small, sweater-paw wave and a cheeky smile. Harry took a moment to tell the audience he needed a quick intermission. Louis turned away and made his way out of the room. He halted in the hallway, unable to walk any further. Seconds later, a burst through a door slammed open down the hall from him and Harry appeared. Breathless, Harry ran to Louis’ side and reached out to hold Louis’ shoulder, but he stopped his hand from officially touching, instead, he pulled away and placed his arm back down at his side. Harry uttered the only words he could think, “You’re here… Louis, you’re … why?” as he searched Louis face for any clue why he might have traveled all the way to South America to see a show … of Harry’s. Their eyes were wild, blues and greens hadn’t been able to meet for years. “Oops,” Louis giggled a bit awkwardly but knowing its might spark an old memory only they know. Harry gives a large, dimpled smile and simply but perfectly whispers, “Hi.” They giggle together and then Harry puts his hand onto Louis’ shoulder and tells him “Umm, I’m so glad you came to see me. It’s really lovely to see your face again. It’s been a long time.” Louis looking down at his feet. Harry continued, glancing to the left, “Looks like you might have the best seat in the house.” Harry pointed into Louis’ VIP door, the view of the stage noticeably wonderful. All Louis could say was “Yeah, I know.” But then he got the courage to continue his thoughts and told Harry “Its been an amazing concert Harry.” Harry nodded his head and mentioned that he should probably go back on stage, it was just supposed to be a quick wee break. Louis agreed and then decided to also tell Harry “Ok, I’ll go back to my seat. Go do you’re thing. I’ll be watching. You look really great out there Haz- err Harry!” He thought he may have seen a blush form on Harry’s cheeks as Harry made his way back down the hall and through the doorway. One last glance and another little, boyish wave to Harry was all that was left in that moment. As Louis made his way to his private seating, he felt that old familiar feeling crash into him. Something he yearned for ever since the break-up but believed he may not be lucky enough to ever feel again.
