Harry Violet & the Sharks are proud to present their first recordings - in the form of two rock and roll classics, Great Balls Of Fire (made famous by Jerry Lee Lewis) and LANA co-written by The Velvets and Roy Orbison (I personally like The Velvets version best).

First mix of a new song off my upcoming debut EP!

The most important post-punk band that was never remembered (falling beneath Joy Division or The Cure). I found out about The Sound by being a bit obsessive about that really specific 1979-onwards British post-punk. It's the original, cold, clean, incarnation of the darkness that permeates black metal or Tragedy-style crust punk.

'From The Lion's Mouth' by The Sound is constantly venerated by any kind of post-punk librarian. Praise absolutely deserved. My maybe favourite is The Chameleons 'The Script Of The Bridge' but it doesn't stop my championing of this album.

For me, 'New Dark Age' is that song, by a band, that you're just really into right now. It's the closer on the album and it goes without saying there would be more obvious choices to recommend. It's a post-punk symphony, clean-production's retort to the end of Unknown Pleasures.

Last night I went outside for a fag and a cup of coffee at midnight under the streetlight. It was as intense a feeling I've felt of late; 'The dogs are howling on the street outside/So they close the curtains, hope they go away'. Every part comes through in full hi-fi glory. It picks up with speeding energy, halts to a stagger, then brings you down to your knees. Then it does it all again.

So every year I run a little DIY indie festival from my very own farm, on the back of a trailer kitted out with fairylights. Its a beautiful day, even I say so myself, and despite the stresses and hassles I seem to experience year in year out Im just happy that I can bring people together for a day, where all different cultures are celebrated and people can be free in a field.
