Some fans claim to be a harry stan but send death threats to every woman he is seen with, bang on his car door, are demanding in public to him whilst also having 'treat people with kindness' in their bio šš

I just want to say as the child of a recovering drug addict who has been very traumatized by drugs in my past, I find it really uncomfortable and gross how many people in this fandom measureĀ āmaturityā by how much someone is comfortable with the idea of Harry doing cocaine.Ā
Is it likely that Harry has done coke at parties? Yes. Probable? Yes. Almost certain? Yes. Absolutely.
But there are more reasons someone might not want to talk about it, hear about it, read about it, or think about it thanĀ ātheyāve put Harry on a pedestal of never doing anythingĀ āwrongā and donāt know how to handle reality of life.ā
Some of us just straight up donāt like drugs. And like........ That doesnāt mean weāre all immature kids who are ignorant and sound like we came straight out of a DARE program. Believe it or not, a lot of people who either are or have been close to an addict or a recovering addict hate drugs a lot. A lot of people who fit that description are hugely uncomfortable when thinking about others they love getting involved with drugs, even casually, because of the trauma weāve gone through.
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
Like itās a hugely toxic idea and harmful to addicts to imply that you haveĀ to be comfortable with public third party fan speculations of someoneās drug use. Because a lot of addicts/loved ones of addicts (rightfully so) feel like itās none of anyone elseās business. Because weāve been personally affected by this and to us, it is straight up no one elseās business!!!!!Ā
A lot of us get scared when the wordĀ āaddictionā gets brought up because we know the reality of what that looks like. Itās not a word to throw around lightly. Itās not someĀ āedgyā orĀ āmatureā concept, addiction. Itās a real thing that hurts people.Ā
And like Iām not sayingĀ ānever talk about it.ā Iām saying that these speculations are just that, speculations. And that sometimes (as in a lot of the times) they get superĀ invasive. And when you feel like you have to proveĀ it, itās the most invasive. Telling people that they have to be comfortable with itĀ or else theyāre notĀ āmatureā enough (for what? idk), is total bullshit. And itās so damn RUDE!Ā 1) youāre telling people they have to be comfortable with your invasive as fuck shit about speculating on when drug use happened, what it looks like, and what that means for this person.Ā 2) youāre telling people that their own history with drugs making them uncomfortable is somehowĀ āimmatureā orĀ āshameful.āĀ
Like just like... can yāall fucking chill? Because your obsession with Harry and drugs is really gross and like honestly a huge part of drug glorification culture which like...... hurts addicts a lot

The Harry fandom fighting classism within it is honestly one of the things Iām most proud of him for.
This fandom has a history and a tendency of being super classist. Implying that Harryās money makes him betterĀ than others. Another Manās release was fullĀ of shaming people who couldnāt afford the magazine by insisting this was Harryās first solo venture and we all had a financial obligation to him. Even today Iāve seen a lot of people talking about how goodĀ it feels to spend money on Harry and how pleased heād be at that.
But this promo season is a lot of Harry not being a part of that.Ā āYou donāt have to buy it. If you like it, buy it. But you donāt have to.ā shook me to my core. Itās not quite Keith UrbanĀ āI donāt care if you download my music,ā but it is in opposition to the usual pushiness of promo seasons. And itās definitelyĀ in opposition toĀ āValuable things should be paid forā the classism of Taylor Swift.Ā
But the real kicker came when it was priced so fairly. That hardcover book? Should be about 45 alone with the album 55. Thatās where I expected its price and from talking to others last night, thatās where a lot of people expected it. But itās under 25 for both. I keep saying this, but as an 11 year fan I canāt help but thing... Taylor Swift would never.Ā
He has an established and loyal fan base whoās proven to be monetarily supportive and loyal as a beginning act. He should be pricing mid level, but even one of his limited edition exclusives is priced low. He wants everyone to be able to justify spending money on him in their lives and lifestyles, not to price his stuff more to hopefully get more.
In other words, itās obvious he had the poorer fans in mind.Ā
Because he could have priced that hardcover + cd bundle at 55 and sold out. But he didnāt. He let us have something when we usually donāt.
So the fandom responded by taking is cue and reassuring poor fans that if even thatās too much. If even the 10 dollars on itunes is too much right now, itās okay. Iāve seen people say that those of us choosing our bills over the album are makingĀ āgood decisionsā and should feel good about our ability to love Harry andĀ make decisions that we need to make for ourselves. Iāve seen people writing long posts about how poor fans need not feel like theyāre less than. That sometimes, even with fair pricing, thereās just no money to budge and thatās okay. It doesnāt mean we love Harry any less and it doesnāt mean we canāt be there for him in other ways.
Harry paid attention to us and has made that obvious, and the fandom is taking his cues and following suit. Iām so fucking proud of him.
this is the craziest fandom day i've been at work for i'm literally choking on laughter
