Dear Vector Prime, could you name some cybertronian musical instruments, and perhaps shortly describe what they sound like?
Dear Musical Maestro,
Surprisingly, music is not an art that comes easily to my kind. Perhaps it is something to do with our planet’s atmosphere—or, in some cases, its lack of one. Perhaps it is the fact that a set of audio receptors programmed to instantly, perfectly transmit radio-wave pulses makes us less sensitive to the subtle atmospheric acoustics and changes in vibration that mark organic symphonies. Either way, our early efforts into the field of music trend towards the crude. In some Primax universal streams, Praxian dulcimer-synths adorn the cultural wings of our museums. In Viron realities, Autobots study the ornate, handcrafted ætherphones of their forebears and historically-minded Predacons might practice the percussive instruments their ancestors maintained.
Either way, when we developed space travel, we found ourselves in an entirely new world of music. Nothing we performed on our instruments could possibly hope to compare to the depth of radio-acoustic experience from an Abraxan Laser-Harp or an Aghartan electrobass.
In pre-war days, it became common for aspiring musicians to travel abroad, mimicking the musical cultures of any given world and adapting it for Cybertronian audio receptors—whether this be the refined harmonies of a Eurythmian vox-amplifier, the pulse-pounding rhythms of a Quartexian lithophone, or the crackling shock-pop endemic to rebellious young Ilxians. Of these, the most devoted musicians seek to understand their chosen instrument at the innermost level by adopting it as an alternate form, then learning to play themselves. This kind of single-minded monasticism is rare, but a Cybertronian who can master such a feat is a talented and much-celebrated artist indeed. Ah, but I remember once attending a fantastic concert in Harmonex, where one such “living orchestra” regaled the audience with a captivating performance of Eucryphia’s Empyrean Suite...
Harmonex
Harmonex, other wise known as the Singing City, is one of Cybertrons city states.
This city state was a center for art and learning. The prized possession of this state are their lithic crystals that sing when taped. To be able to play these crystals you have to study under a teacher who has played for a long while, which there are few of, and if you do know how to play them you are seen as a big deal.
TEASER WIP #1
Yes, I'm still alive, slag it! 😂
Anyways, I'm just popping back on here to announce that I am finally going to start creating an TFP OC.~ I don't know when I will finish it but I will be putting up teasers throughout the progress [I take decades to finish, don't judge me!] before the grand reveal once it's ready.~ For now, I will just give little deets of the character:
An aerial mech with a devilish- sinful sleek frame. 😗
Terrible personality, like it's just borderline cynic and cunning: manipulator. To give an idea, combine TFP Starscream's and Pharma's lovely personalities. It's THAT bad. I think.
A Neutral who should have batted with the Decepticons, and he is, not by choice though but he's not complaining.
He claims to be from old Harmonex, aspired to be an actor or a choreographer.
Informant broker/smuggler: watch what you say because it will be used against you.~
Although he is an aerial bot, he can't fly. He has puzzling stories about this, ranging from having sold off his T-Cog for uh- very unsafe substances to claiming his T-Cog had been taken from him in order to cooperate in morally questionable affairs. No bot knows what's the actual story, he doesn't seem to miss it.
He ADORES raves, party like there's no tomorrow- don't accept any drink from him. He's pretending to be sweet and charming but he's actually a di-
I think that's enough, I'll add more deets in the following teasers. I will also work on his background so there's that to look forward to. Don't steal my art, please!
Harmonex sounds like my version of robot heaven. I am all about music. Just... yes /please./
Harmonex was such a divisive city among Cybertronians. Either you were irritated by its many musical customs and wished it would simply shut up, or it was heaven. Very little middle ground.
