Overlooked Beings: Hariasa
Hariasa is a goddess that (so far as I'm aware) was only attested to on one stone from 187 CE found in Cologne, Germany that bore a Latin incription to her. The stone has since been lost. Scholar Rudolf Simek has proposed that Hariasa's name is derived from the proto-Germanic Herjaza. This is related to the Old Norse verb herja, which basically means "to go harrying or freebooting, wage war". It's also been proposed that Hariasa may mean "goddess with lots of hair". It is uncertain whether Hariasa is related to or identical with Herja, a valkyrie mentioned in Nafnaþulur.
