Hare Moon/ Flower Moon <3
Yβall know what time it is. πππ°
Mayβs full moon is most commonly called the Flower Moon today, which is attributed to the Algonquin people, but it also has several other historical names. I opted for plum blossoms and locust tree flowers as a nod to the Chinese lunar calendar month this full moon falls in. (My sources varied on whether the 4th month was represented by locust trees or plum flowers, so why not both)
Some names used by other Native American groups overlap with names used for the April full moon, like the Budding Moon and the Egg Laying Moon. Anglo-saxon and Celtic names include the Hare Moon and the Milk Moon because supposedly cows produce the most milk this time of year.
