Hi Alex, is it common when only serving the LWA (not initiated) for the LWA to only reveal themselves or communicate when they are upset or when they are trying to relay a message? Since I started serving, I noticed they don't appear in dreams or notice anything that may relate to them. I hope that made sense.
Hi there,
The lwa speak when they need to, so them only making themselves heard when they have a message to deliver is not uncommon. Its kind of the normal day-to-day. If they were speaking all the time or a person was having heavy dreams all the time, that could potentially indicate an imbalance that may need exploring. Sometimes they speak more early on to make sure their presence is understood and to deliver some foundational understandings to us.
However, I would encourage you to expand what you think relates to them. They are all around us all the time and it is for us to learn how they move within the world and within our individual spiritual worlds. They speak on the wind and in our intuition and in the voice of the stranger who says something completely unexpected to us while we cross the street and in the drums and in the space between dreams and between wakefulness and sleep.
This kind of spiritual development takes awhile and requires consistent presence and effort; it is a lifetime pursuit that we practice and refine and practice more. This is the process of faith, which is often uncomfortable but a valuable way to understand ourselves and our spirits.
It's also not easy to feel like they aren't talking to you, particularly if you feel you need to hear from them. It can get a bit Dark-Night-of-the-Soulish, but your faith will carry you through and so will the lwa.
Hoping this is helpful, hang in there!
