It's Station Arcadia incorrect quotes hours with Teddy and Bluebell!
Bluebell: What is your biggest weakness?
Teddy: I can be uncooperative.
Bluebell: Okay, can you give me an example?
Teddy: No.
Charlie: Here's some advice.
Peaches: I didn't ask for any.
Charlie: Too bad. I'm stuck here with my thoughts and you're the only one who talks to me.
So I heard you liked worldbuilding?
Wait that's really interesting, so we have one society that relies on a mostly meat diet based on the harsh low water setting they dwell in leaving most vegetation only edible to the cows, and one that seems to rely a lot on fishing and perhaps crops thanks to the easy access to water, if I'm understanding right, and both of these impact the cultures already in the story you've created, like, stated in canon. Would it be alright to ask about how/what food and growing practices go on in the other two?
Yes absolutely!! I’m really glad you find this interesting, it’s actually the very first thing we thought of when we were doing worldbuilding back in the spring. Our director, Tovah, rightfully insisted that food is a central aspect to any society and we needed to figure out how each society got it’s food. So here we go!
The Empire:
- Yep, mostly meat! They have some grain and vegetation, but it’s very limited and generally Extremely overpriced. (There’s also food shortages in some locations, but I won’t get into that here.
Hardizan:
- Aside from the fishing, much of Hardizan’s produce comes from the aptly named Proteus island, a crop-growing island off the cost that is mostly run by machinery. (We’ll get into that in a future episode!)
Talsoria:
- Almost entirely processed food. Typical meals consist of “food pills”. There are different colours/synthetic flavours, but they’re pretty much all the same. Items such as candy/chips are available but not staples. (There’s also a huge market for stimulant drugs and drinks). “Regular” food is also available but it costs a pretty penny and is considered a luxury.
The Gannon Islands:
- In typical Gannon Island fashion, they are a bit healthier than the other societies. Diet varies from island to island (each island has a different biome/ecosystem) but community and individual gardens are common and plentiful. There’s also a fair bit of fishing and hunting. Individual biomes aside, there is trade throughout the islands for staples that are only grown in certain locations. (Though if you want the GOOD maple syrup you’d better get to island 6...)

Fun fact: the radio protagonist for this episode, Samuel Garnett, was the second character we came up with during our planning process, after Kass.
