Non-wholesome romantic asks for Ariadne and Illario~ 9 and 17?
9. How do they feel about each other's exes and people who flirt with them? Is jealousy an issue in general?
So, this question is a little funny because Ariadne doesn't have much in the way of exes. In fact, Illario is her only canon ex that she does have. Illario enjoys this fact, and he uses it frequently to tease her. But when it comes to jealousy, Illario only feels it when it pertains to Tarquin. He doesn't entirely know why he dislikes Tarquin and Ari's friendship. Perhaps he feels threatened by how long they've been friends or how well they know each other. He knows Tarquin would be the better option for her in the long run, and it makes him a bit possessive over Ari whenever the Shadow Dragon is around. If anyone else flirts with her or tries to ask her out, Illario just watches in amusement because Ariadne will take care of the issue herself. I wouldn't say the jealousy is an issue in general because it applies to one single person.
Ariadne, on the other hand, has a bit of a jealousy issue. It isn't because she distrusts Illario's feelings for her or that she particularly thinks he deserves better. It's more of a self-conscious thing on her part. She isn't used to romantic attention, isn't sure if she's doing enough, if perhaps he made a mistake by choosing the woman who doesn't do PDA or who hasn't been in love before. Romance is a new thing for Ari, she's used to people using her for her connection to Charon Mercar or Dorian Pavus, her connections to the Inquisitor and the Viper. So when she has someone who loves her for her and not all that other shit, she can't help when she wants to protect it. When it comes to Illario's job as an assassin, she can put those feelings aside, even if it feels like it might kill her, but when they are together and she has to see it, she may get a little angry and honestly, I think Illario would enjoy seeing the fiery side of her. Especially if it happens to involve him.
17. Is there a secret that they don't dare tell the other? Why? Will they ever say it?
