First things first: I’m an adult blogging with other adults in mind.
This is largely a Veilguard blog - I’ve been a DA fan since DA:O and I’ve been fandom active since this post. I mainly write nonbinary Crow Rook because my OC is dancing a jingle in my head and refuses all attempts at exorcism.
I'm a Multi-shipper. Nevecanis applauder. Spites Union Rep. Teiago enthusiast. Enjoyer of all things queer. Currently hyper-fixated on Spookaneve, DreadRook and Hooke (Hawke/Rook), but will Oneshot any combo if inspiration hits because I love them all.

If you have a kink that overlaps with your trauma, that does not mean you wanted the abuse.
The body can seek control, choice, and agency in ways the mind didn’t get to have before. That doesn’t rewrite the past. It doesn’t turn harm into consent.
What happened to you was not your fault, regardless of what you enjoy now.
Transphobia is being signed into law in the UK. Let's fight it together.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the rescheduled Mass Lobby at Parliament, now on Wed Sept 9th, 1pm-5pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
The law around trans equality is fundamentally broken. Government inaction is hanging trans people and organisations out to dry - with a con
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It became statutory guidance in the UK on August 5th, 2026.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Our demands have changed. Ask your MP to:
Write to Ministers and Prime Minister Andy Burnham to say they are profoundly concerned by the rolling back of trans rights, and that they believe that it is time for Parliament to legislate to protect equality for trans people.
Ask parliamentary questions focused on protecting trans people’s rights and defending trans people’s abilities to live safe and dignified lives.
Speak up both inside and outside Parliament in defence of trans people’s rights.
Meet regularly with trans constituents to understand their lived realities.
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
We have already had some wins because we took action. The 2026 EHRC guidance has already rolled back its most harmful elements because of mass campaigning by individuals like us, and groups like The Good Law Project. This summer, 166 MPs signed the Early Day Motion 240 to reject the EHRC Code of Practice, because of our campaigning. That is 1 in 4 MPs.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
Worried about what to say?
Bring your personal worries about transphobia being signed into law, and trans friends being excluded from public spaces. You are a living person who deserves dignity. Remind your MP of that. On the day, you'll get guidance and brochures from Trans Solidarity Alliance that outlines our demands. This is mine from last year.
Here is an online briefing for lobbyists (10 mins read for essential info, 20 mins for details)
Money issues?
Trans Solidarity Alliance provides a travel bursary that you can sign up for via the link.
Got a refusal or no response from your MP?
Come anyway! You can request a same-day appointment with your MP through a process called greencarding. They will come and see you if they’re already in Parliament. Even if they don’t, they’re made acutely aware of your cause because you showed up in person. This is my greencard from last year.
Here is the EHRC Code of Practice in full. It's a tough read, but some highlights are:
Organisations can’t provide trans-inclusive, single-sex services, or they risk being sued for discrimination. e.g. domestic violence support for women including trans women, men’s rugby group including trans men (12.68).
Trans people will have nowhere safe to pee. If you’re a trans man, businesses can't allow you to pee in the men's, and you can also be ejected from women’s bathrooms if you’re perceived as a man. Vice versa for trans women. EHRC suggests a ‘third space’ bathroom, which is discriminatory and unworkable for most businesses. (13.130-133)
Sports organisations must exclude trans people from single-sex competitions (13.73). A women’s only sports competition must exclude trans women because of their biological advantage or face potential lawsuits (13.74), but a trans man who has undergone testosterone treatment can also be excluded based on fairness rules (13.81).
Trans women are stripped of the legal definition of ‘lesbian’, and therefore no longer have legal protections if they’re discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation. (2.50, 2.92).
Here is the Good Law Project's better explanation of the EHRC Code.
Sign up for the mass lobby and email your MP here, or click the main link above.
If you are not in the UK but want to support the case, please donate to The Good Law Project.
Save the date and book off work!! I will see you there :))

thank you @epiphany-jones and @maagisterpavus @in-the-drowning-deep for tagging me <3 mwah!
I'm attempting my lock-in for the @dragonagesapphicweek and started working on a belasara thingie. that was originally supposed to be just a cute fluff piece, but I think it's actually also going to be an exploration of the Anderfels politics as I envision them in the aftermath of Veilguard and the difficulties they create for Ghilasara. whoops!
#wip: piles of piles
“Why are you still up?” Bellara asks, clearly still too drowsy to be mad or disappointed.
“Just finishing some things up. You should go back to sleep.”
“Paperwork?”
“Yes,” Rook responds carefully. Bellara may soon wake enough that she can start approaching the previously feared states.
“You could,” Bellara yawns, sweetly, “bring it here.”
Rook dares a look at the spot in her room many times more enticing than her desk. Bellara has sat up, blanket sliding away to reveal the top of her nightgown and neatly braided hair already turned into a lovely mess. The other side of the bed, the one Rook is supposed to occupy, is achingly empty. She wishes she was there, tangled in the death grip Bellara considers her preferred form of cuddling.
“Only,” Rook musters, “if you promise that the paperwork will constitute most of what we’ll be doing.”
“A half?” Bellara bargains.
“The bigger half.”
“There are no ‘bigger halves.’” Bellara, more awake, now frowns. “If it’s a half, it’s already split into two equal—”
“The bigger half…” Bellara pauses, as if trying to find the best way to describe the expression after she has so staunchly denounced its definition. “Doesn’t sound too bad to me.”
also, there is this. I may not be a mother in a traditional sense, but I sure have a lot of unplanned children in the digital world.

He's beautiful.
It shouldn't matter that he's beautiful, but Cyri supposes that consequence doesn't always care for truth. And the truth, significant or otherwise, is that he's beautiful.
With his broad nose and all the sharp lines of his face, he seems more like a work of June. Made all the more perfect for his flaws—if the line cutting through his brow could be called as much. In this light, the raised line is cast in a silver glow. The contrast to the rich color of his skin suggests artistry more than violence.
Cyri had heard it said that the more scars a man bore, the higher he ranked in Andruil's service. And While she often doubted that Andruil promoted her Hunters based on the exact count of their scars, Cyri put some merit into the spirit of observation. And if the whispers that reached her ears were little more than hearsay, she isn't foolish enough to doubt that this man could rip her throat out with his teeth.
Under different circumstances, she might not be so opposed to the concept.
As it is, she's already been far more arrogant tonight than was wise. A sentiment which is suppressed by the fur and leather pressing in around her. Sweat slicks the skin beneath her armor, the compounded body heat only serving to exacerbate her current conundrum. Cyri takes in a measured breath, fighting the urge to squirm away from the feathers twitching against the side of her throat.
A banal hiding spot by all accounts, the wardrobe.
Watching crimson rivulets spill between the flagstones on the floor, Cyri is forced to reckon with the fact that she'd had little choice—in hiding places at least.
It is difficult to pinpoint the singular choice which led her to this point, peering through the sliver in the wooden doors as her killer creeps undoubtedly closer. More likely, it'd been a series of precipitant impulses which took her to the point of no return.
All said, it was bound to happen eventually. It must be said that a part of her, rational or otherwise, felt more alive than she had in months, knowing that any violent tremor of her heart could be the last.

for the record im not technially 100% anti-AI, in the sense that its a broad category of tech being lumped under one umbrella term so it feels over-zealous to say i hate all of it all the time forever. but i also think trying to discuss what it actually IS good for is difficult right now when i cant take one step without something trying to convince me to use chatgpt to summarize my life and speed up my hobbies and turn my friends into chatbots and optimize my life into oblivion. i am certain there is nuance to the topic but can we stop cramming the square peg into the round hole before you start trying to sell me on the legitimate benefits of the square peg. please.
here's my super-quick, easy-to-digest summary that i use when i can't spend more than like 15 seconds on it but need someone to know the basic distinctions:
generative AI - bad evil AI. chatbots, LLMs, image generators, etc. this the one that steals shit.
analytical AI - helpful medical AI. this the one that helps detect cancer early.
game "AI" - fake AI. 100% human created and dictated. this the one that determines game mob behavior n stuff.
losing the battle with my own self-control so will briefly comment and say that categorizing certain types of ai as straightforwardly good and other types as "bad evil," even for the sake of summary, doesn't really hold water. just to give two counterexamples to the distinctions drawn above, large language models ("evil") are being used by human rights groups to parse huge datasets about police abuse while analytical ai ("helpful") is also the kind of ai that animates facial recognition software and the increasingly ubiquitous searchable license plate databases that police are using to stalk people. the goodness or badness of a given ai tool has less to do with its type and more to do with things like scale and scope, transparency, ownership, and contextual application.
I would purpose that if your 15 second summary is that over simplified and incorrect that maybe you just need to own up to the fact that the subject can't be usefully summarized in 15 seconds.
In fact, actually saying "this subject is too complex to summarize in a few sentences" alone helps combat misinformation by helping people know that anyone who is summarizing it in a few sentences is giving misinformation of some kind.
