I’m on a mission to seriously improve my sketching since I’ve felt rather stuck lately. Sorry for the rather OOC style, I was experimenting a little bit.

☠ - angry/violent headcanon: rarely gets angry but when he does he’s COLD. he’s not violent and doesn’t really raise his voice but just icy glare and turning away...although it doesn’t last very long; he’s terrible at holding a grudge.

♥ - family headcanon: his older brother is nerdy and serious, but they get along really well despite their different interests and temperaments. (mostly they just amuse each other tbh)

♒ - cooking/food headcanon: decided that since ladies love a man who cooks he was going to learn how. his early attempts were mediocre at best (kobori ate them anyway bless that boy) but then he grew to really enjoy it in and of itself and now he’s the guy who has a million kitchen gadgets and actually uses a lot of them.

▼ - childhood headcanon: it took a while for anyone to realize he needed glasses at a very young age--it’s one of the reasons he’s so coordinated; when he was learning to walk and stuff his vision was pretty limited. It’s also the reason he was a fairly late reader (he was a late talker, too); his schoolmates and teachers underestimated his intelligence a lot.

∇ -. old age/aging headcanon: he’s SO one of those old dudes who plays chess/dominos out on the sidewalk.

ൠ - random headcanon: he likes fishing but he’s really INTO fish. like he knows about the classification and anatomy and habits, care and keeping, how to prepare them as food...probably snuck a pet fish into the touou dorms for at least a brief period of time. also his parents have a koi pond in their back yard

★ - sad headcanon: paid special attention to one particular koi and when it died it shook him up a LOT. it made him grow up a bit.

4. Which has the most "you" in it, however you'd define that?

Overall, Sea Change, which is a backstory for Mouri Motonari from Sengoku Basara. It's a couple of years old, so it's not my most mature work, plus it's very long, non-linear, and full of obscure references, so I don't think many people would read it, but I'm happy with it anyway. It's very much my style--a long involved project, lots of background I was happy to look up, studies on doomed relationships and what it means to be bad people who think too much, and well-hidden (I hope) explorations of my own fears.

5. What is an image/set of images that you're particularly proud of?

I'm not really sure what this question means... if it means imagery from things I've written, here are a couple that I can think of:

the dream sequence at the end of The Blue (Dynasty Warriors): the wind tearing up the city, the letter in the rubble.

Makishima appearing and retreating in the hallway in Bloody Valentine (Psycho Pass), also a dream sequence, oddly enough

the blue evening after the rain in Ballad of Flowers (TouRabu)

10. Favorite line or lines of dialogue that you've written

Everything from A Story About A Cat (Samurai Warriors). The silly parts, as well as more sincere lines such as:

The flow of every river and stream, after all, will eventually find its way to the ocean, and every wandering life will find its way home.

And the more horrifying dialogue from Ballad of Flowers, like this:

Didn’t you say that one time, if you fell for me you would have to cut out my heart?

Oh, don’t worry, I wouldn’t do that. Not something so inelegant. And I didn’t mean literally, anyway.

11. If I'm showing off just one of your pieces to someone, which one should it be?

In terms of fandoms we both know, it would have to be Ballad of Flowers. It's just fresh in my memory is all :'D

For those of you who want proof I can be a good person too, there's also this fluffy Basara story about Toyotomi family happy times.

4. Which has the most “you” in it, however you’d define that?

There is a certain thread, almost a “through line” to my mess of work, of Adults Doing Shitty Jobs When They Should Really Kick Back And Go To Cabo (But They’re Too Damn Stubborn).  ”Heaven’s Blessing Upon Us" was an early example (really, who else would write self-insert Seth wherein banging Eirika is decidedly not the point?).  ”Another Piece of Blue" is TOTALLY that.  Several more recent pieces of Jugdral fiction hit the line as well, as did some of the mid-period contemplative stuff focusing on Marth.

 That said the actual answer would be “These Useless Feelings.”

10. Favorite line or lines of dialogue that you’ve written

The funny stuff!  Things that make people laugh!  I like to make people laugh, actually.  Stuff like “Enhanced" and "Wings of Love" and "Sailane Scramble" and the Lord Mash-up Crackfic.  And AU Innes.

I especially like the bleakly funny stuff set in a serious story, like this piece from “Sleep of the Just”:

Six solid months passed before Rennac popped up once more in Frelia.

"That’s a new page," the agent commented; his face, though pocked by mosquito bites, had lost not a shred of its insolence. "Fine-looking lad. Of good breeding, I’m sure."

Innes ignored the comments regarding Vanessa’s son and set about interrogating Rennac.

"Imagine a tower of rubes with other rubes perched on their shoulders- suckers carrying other suckers, going on to infinity. That’s Grado."

"How colorful. Whatever do you mean?"

"There’s no real money involved," said Rennac, and his eyes widened for just a moment with what might have been genuine concern. "Maybe a little bit of gold in the hands of a few at the top, and the rest of it is pure faith. People owing millions and millions in nonexistent gold and gems, all of it attested to by worthless slips of colored paper."

"How has it sustained itself for this long?"

"There’s always another sucker," Rennac said, and the smirking mask slipped back into place. "Besides, these people have a faith in their ventures that would nearly put Her Majesty to shame."

"Talk lightly of Her Majesty at your own peril. How long can this scheme continue to sustain itself?"

"Funnily enough, sire, I lied a few moments ago. There isn’t always another sucker. You run out of them eventually. Then the whole thing bursts like a swollen corpse."

"You’re thinking of the Carcinese Goldfish Bubble of 769? I knew this entire fiasco sounded familiar.

11. If I’m showing off just one of your pieces to someone, which one should it be?

I was going to reach way way back into the past and say “A Knight In Reverse,” which was my favorite one-shot for, like, ever and held a very special place in my affection.  ”In That Dawn to Be Alive" was actually a contender as well.  Both of them are, on some level, a Statement of "This is what I do, OK?" in addition to being things that meant something on an emotional level and weren’t just some kind of ideological exercise.  I think both of them are also at least comprehensible to someone who is canon-blind, which used to be a thing I strove for in my stories.

But of my recent work aka Where My Head Is At Now, I think “Drink Your Glasses Empty" is more representative and also fits the criteria outlined above.

13. Are there any things that might have happened in any of your stories, but you changed them at the last minute? (So-and-so dies, they don’t actually kiss, main character has long extended ballet-based dream sequence, etc.)
