I feel like everything I make draws from real life in some way.

My parents were divorced and I would spend every summer at my dad's house. Inevitably, my dad would have a home project every time I was there. And, inevitably, it would end with a teenager sodding a lawn/smoothing concrete/building a goddamn deck while a lazy ass boomer sat in a lawn chair smoking and drinking beer the whole time.
