A friend of mine is making his way through S5. He just got to 5x04 and texted me: "grapefruit scallops?!?"
Even he, who doesn't ship anything and hasn't rewatched and obsessed over previous episodes, noticed the inconsistency right away. He knew the dish wasn't grapefruit scallop but he can't reconcile that the show would make that big of an error. His first instinct is that Syd told a little lie but made it subtle enough for Carmy to catch on, but he doesn't get the intention. So he's also puzzled π
