"Christopher Stannix"
Metro Transit's new 2014 Harbour Ferry "Christopher Stannix" at the Woodside Ferry Terminal doing practice and maneuvers getting familiar with the new ferry. The new Halifax Harbour ferry Christopher Stannix is named in honour of Master Corporal Christopher Stannix, a soldier from The Princess Louise Fusiliers. Christopher Stannix died in Afghanistan in April 2007 after the vehicle he was travelling in struck a roadside bomb. Metro Transit had a online voting for the new name of the ferry and Christopher Stannix received 61 per cent of the votes entered. Metro Transit's new ferry was built by A.F. Theriault & Son Ltd., of Meteghan River, Nova Scotia
