Extended Hour of Code/Kids Hack at the Google Developer Group PH HackFair
What a privilege it was for us to be part of the first HackFair in the country yesterday, December 19. Despite the rainy weather, the exhibit hall at the Mind Museum was full of exhibitors and attendees, and we were just thrilled to share more about Good Code. We intended to teach a module on basic JavaScript with fun Star Wars illustrations to kids aged 8-14, however there weren’t enough attendees for us to actually do a proper class. Instead, the class became a quick walkthrough on the Hour of Code program and how each person, in his/her own little way, can actually teach a child about coding.
We are thrilled to seize opportunities like this because we believe that someone who even has little knowledge on coding logic can teach anyone who would like to code. The Internet can always be an awesome source of answers and guides for any question one may have.
If you’d like to know more about basic coding or how to approach teaching children about code, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. :)
