Tumblr week 13 & 14 I will say these past two weeks were very educational and full of Aβ¦ha moments. Β Now that my podcast informational webpage was complete, I started building my official podcast RSS website and running a promotional campaign on social media. Building the website was pretty smooth cause I already had the majority of the content info on the webpage, so I copied and pasted most of that content into the podcast RSS site. Β However, the promotional campaign seems to become itΚ»s own animal. Β It took me much more time to create the ads than I actually thought. Β I would first start by writing a short script for each episode, then produce an audio recording of that script, then create the graphics for the ad online, then merge the audio with the graphics, and lastly, post the advertisement to multiple social media accounts and lastly check the analytic of that posting. This process was done for each episode, so that was a lot of work.
Interestingly, I learned how to produce a podcast in one of my Creative Media courses about a year ago and now I have been implementing those skills into this podcast project, but this is a first for me to actually go live and create an account with an RSS, pay for the RSS service, upload the episode, set up the captions, create the graphics for the podcast show and the promotional campaign, and then using social media to promote the podcast and get people interested in listening to the podcast. Β Like I said earlier, it was a lot of work but very educational and I actually had fun during this process because creating digital pieces, especially graphic pieces is one of my passions so I enjoyed that process. The biggest challenge I had during that process was balancing my time on this project with the many other task and responsibilities I had in other areas of my life. Β Overall, IΚ»m glad I went through this whole process and proud of the outcome. Β I have been getting lots of positive responses from the public since I published the podcast. The topic seems to be interesting to others and listener engagement seems to be increasing as more episodes are being released. Β So IΚ»m now, looking forward to seeing how this podcast evolves and continuing with this venue even after this senior capstone project finish.
