My mom and I took a trip to our local grocery store today. I was at the ATM while my mom was outside smoking. Next thing I know she is behind me, pulling me to the exit, as she informs me that there is some psychotic dumbass in the store with a gun. A GUN. IN A FUCKING GROCERY STORE. The whole store had to be evacuated while cops (bullet-proof vests, guns drawn, ect) swarmed around us trying to make sure this fucking idiot didn’t hurt anyone. Keep in mind, I live pretty close to the mall shooting that happened this week (before Connecticut). I think, thankfully, the cops were on their shit. Luckily nobody was hurt… But what the fuck? What the hell is going on? What are these people thinking..?! My mom and I were sitting in our car for an hour because our route home was blocked by cops.. But we also just sat there because we couldn’t think of a single place we felt safe at that moment… Jfc, something’s gotta give.. Now I am preparing for a stress-induced flare up for the both of us.. I can't imagine the pain felt by so many this week.
