How did Gulo escape TCRI? Did the others escape with her? Did some people have FAILED mutations? 👀
Gulo was able to escape with the help of the turtles doing a LOT of convincing that they weren’t the ones who turned her into a mutant, plus Gulo’s already existing doubt that Cynthia was a good person since Cynthia treated her and the rest of the mutants terribly.
Gulo eventually rescues the rest of the mutants since they all trust her over the turtles, and she’s able to turn them back human with some of TCRI’s locked away demutantizers (wtv they were called 💔). Because of this, Gulo was the last to be demuntantized (Jesus I hate this word).
As for failed mutations… yes, there was. In the early stages of TCRI’s experiment on real humans, there were a lot of problems when it came to combining animal DNA with mutagen. The side effects of the unstable mutagen could’ve ranged anywhere from memory loss to turning into a horrifying meat blob with fur/scales/feathers/whatevertexturetheanimalis. Several experiments were terminated because of this. TCRI found out they had to create the perfect ratio of animal DNA to mutagen to limit the amount of side effects it would have on a human. Thank god Liza wasn’t a part of the first few waves of humans that were experimented on. 😓
