I'm also discovering how many posters in the PP fandom have deactivated recently, and although I'm so so happy to find some of them on AO3 and hope they're doing well and thriving outside of Tumblr, my heart's breaking a bit that they felt like they couldn't stay here for waves hands around all sorts of recent reasons. Thanks so much for your amazing content and support of this community, among others, mrsmando, macfrog, goodwithcheese, guiltyasdave, and probably more as I work through the backlog - your writing and your presence are definitely missed here.

a safe haven - even though i am taking 84 years to finish this one and have been in the trenches with it, it will always hold a special place in my heart.

fall into temptation - i think about joel and his little dove at least once a week. i really need to revisit these two.

run - i genuinely feel like this might be some of my best work. i poured a lot of love into this for months and i feel like it definitely paid off!

just friends - one of the only javi fics i have ever written, it holds a special place in my heart.

Okay okay okay so this is hard for me but I've been trying to reframe stuff lately so here it goes:

1. My friends/lovely mutuals on here

2. The fact that I'm writing so much, my creative spark is back and I love that

3. The fact that I have a good job tbh

haha so well .... back in 2020 when everyone was slowly losing their minds, i lost my mind a little bit more than most and hyperfixated on the mentalist which led to me writing about 250,000 words of fics in about four months - and one of those fics was big blue (it's not about marcus pike though, well i guess he's in it but he's the bad guy haha)

anyway, so big blue is the one that got away if you can say that about a fic. i wrote about 80,000 words in a few weeks and burned myself out and never finished it (there's this case in it that i could never make sense of and there came a point where i had written too much nonsense to save it), BUT i think about it constantly, i had the time of my life writing it, and it distracted me from a lot of horrible things that were going on in my life at that time. and i think my love for that fic shows in how well it was received, it literally is the 6th most popular mentalist fic on ao3 (hits wise), it gets recommended in youtube comments and on reddit, and people STILL message me about it

15. something you learned this year

oh i’ve learned so much this year. but i think the biggest thing i’ve learned is to not force my writing. if it doesn’t come naturally, then forcing pen to paper isn’t gonna get make it good. i just have to accept it, take a step back, revisit it when the time and vibes feel right. more times than not, it’ll flow a lot better when i’m least expecting it to

21. most memorable comment/review

not to sound cliché or anything but i do remember most reviews/comments and love i get. they really do mean so much, but the ones that always make me all soft and gooey nside are ones of people telling me i’ve awoken a kink in them that they were previously hesitant to accept. i’ve gotten a few of those with some of the ddlg stuff i’ve been writing and it means the world to me (and it encourages me to dive deeper into something i enjoy exploring)

25. a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read

i haven’t read as much as i would’ve liked to this year, but earlier this year, i read to the light by @metaphoricgibberish and to this day it lives and thrives in my head. the most beautiful prose i think i’ve ever read. if you like big, grumpy, protective, reluctant joel, tension building, and slow burn, i think you’ll love it. and it’s got some filthy daddy and competence kink 😌 (among some others) i highly recommend checking it out!
