However, I’ve never been in a SMP fandom before, so I wanted to ask some questions about SMP fandom etiquete/ethics.

Obviously, the real life people in this series are embodying a character for the sake of the story. I’ve never been in a fandom where the lines between people and characters are so blurred—so how is that treated? When I talk about a character, is it assumed that I mean the fictional character and not the real person (assuming I use the context of the story)? I don’t enjoy non-canon shipping or NSFW (and I can already see that some people are uncomfortable with it), so that’s not something I have questions about. But stuff like headcanons, AUs, fanfic, is that something that people in these SMPs are okay with? Is that expected? I’ve enjoyed a lot of art/content that cover canon events, but idk how non-canon stuff works.
