Summary from Steam: A handcrafted point-and-click adventure about traveling through a town that appears ordinary⦠right up until revealing its surreal and twisted nature. Youāll encounter hidden agendas, lurking gods, and decisions that change the very nature of your journey in this mystery and SciFi fusion adventure.
It has an excellent atmosphere for the direction the summary hints at the game going. The music and dialogue with the NPCs lend themselves very well to building this up, and I found the interactions to be interesting and enticing.
Regarding accessibility, the game has captions for the narrator dialogue, text dialogue for the NPCs, and a prompt that an object can be interacted with (i.e.: āNarrator about broken fenceā when mousing over a fence). The dialogue for NPCs and prompts, however, are very tiny and hard to see; the NPCs dialogue becomes more difficult the longer you talk with them, and the prompts are microscopic at all times.
The voice acting and dialogue text occasionally do not match up (i.e. the ticket master said to follow the path BEFORE the forest, but the dialogue text said AFTER the forest).
I donāt like the glowing orbs that show interaction points. They areĀ ācloseā to the location of interests, but not directly next to them; for example, the barmanās orb is on the corner of the roof of the bar instead of near him in the bar, so I thought I would be interacting with the bar itself, not the barman. Several of the orbs were present before their part of the story came up, so I tried to click on them and assumed that they were not part of the demo when they did not work.
One of the āscaresā continued to happen every time I passed the same spot, which made it significantly less of a scare each time.
The game is visually too dark; I turned the brightness on my computer as high as it will go and could not see the terrain. It was hard on the eyes, and I started feeling sick part way through.
Feels a little clunky when you click. I had trouble transitioning between screens when I backtracked up the side path from the inn toward the station, but also at the inn trying to climb up the pathway. There also seems to be a delay after clicking on the arrow to move to the next screen.
Maybe Con: Could not access an options menu while playing; I saw the button to go back to the main menu, but nothing for audio/visual options.
Important note: I did not finish the demo! I got up to trying to find a way into the farm. I am 99% certain I know how to get into the farm, but I didnāt backtrack far enough to find what I needed. Having to strain my eyes to see anything was making me feel ill, so I gave up on continuing after the trouble with the transitioning along the side-path.
