The last room on the first floor at the Greycliff Estate by Frank Lloyd Wright is the patio room.  It had many windows and you had clear views of the lake and a former garden just outside of the windows.  The flooring was restored to 9″ square linoleum to be original but was cut down from 12″ squares with no asbestos.  This was at the time a cutting edge flooring material.

The Greycliff Estate designed by Frank Lloyd Wright South of Buffalo, N.Y. on the cliffs of Lake Erie was founded on the Larkin Soap company. The owner, Darwin Martin, worked for the Larkin Company and they made everything for the house as seen by these many types of household products in the pantry.

Here we are touring the kitchen and pantry of the Greycliff Estate designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the late 1920’s.  It was designed for a summer home for the Darwin Martin family as they had a large mansion in Buffalo also designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.  This pantry off of the kitchen has a lot of light with windows on three sides.

At the Greycliff Estate by Frank Lloyd WrightSouth of Buffalo N.Y. on the cliffs of Lake Erie, they even had spectacular hardware for the doors.  Most of the doors had octagonal brass or bronze door knobs, and the bathrooms had octagonal white glass or enamel knobs.  The hinges were unusual and modern looking like they could be from Star Trek but they were from 1927.  All appeared to be original…

At the Greycliff Estate by Frank Lloyd Wright on Lake Erie, they have a very nice kitchen for 1927.  This is the icebox next to a table by the open window.
