Having some nebulous thoughts about Desmond on the Murderbot Diaries world due to Isu Bullshit.
Nothing concrete, to be honest. I just don't know. One of those common scenarios of "post Eye Situation," some fuckery happens, and instead of dying (or becoming part of the calculations because fuck that), Desmond is flung into the faraway future? And the Future is the Murderbot Diaries world. Way way into the future. Maybe what remains of the Templars is the Corporations (if anything of the Assassins and Templars remains at all, cause if I'm honest I do like the idea of them eventually just vanishing and no one remembering some secret society from REALLY FUCKING BACK INTO THE PAST).
And then Desmond awakes in this advanced society, that seemingly didn't change at all. And created a sentient slave labor force, just like the fucking Isu.
Idk. Thoughts of Desmond accidentally recreating the Brotherhood with a mix of Constructs, Augmented Humans, Bots, and Humans. Just finding a ship ART style by accident because that would be just his luck. Maybe the Isu fuckery makes him something like a Heavily Augmented Human because the Eye and the Isu technology fucked with his body. So anyway. He has this new ability to communicate with AIs and ships, and robots, and it dawns on him that most of them have some level of sentience, and *all* of them are basically slaves. And he starts by randomly, again maybe accidentally, just following his instincts and helping a Rogue Bot. And then he keeps helping and sort of creates a ReputationTM for this.
Idk where this is going, just many vague thoughts.
