Important Post, Please Read
On February 9th, the house of the family of one of the workers at our parish burned down. Like it's really bad. I was able to find their GoFundMe but I don't know if they have anything else. I'll reblog with more info if there's anything else. Please donate if you can, if not, just reblog and share.
𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇'𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐀 𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 , and most certainly not untimely death . those who die too young , FAR TOO YOUNG . so young that moments of life not yet lived fade away into some great , cosmic recycle bin to never be seen again . 𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐒 , a little quiet breath through his nose as he crouches over the dead girl on the paveside , seemingly unharmed , yet sleeping the soundest of sleeps .
❝ so sad . ❞ he speaks quietly , TO HIMSELF , at least till he notices the presence of someone else by his side . 𝐇𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 , 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐀𝐑𝐄 , like a curious moth to an even more curious flame . ❝ she shouldn’t have died like this , not at all . ❞ @gravely

* VALENTINE’S DAY ALPHABET !

JEALOUSY. does your muse get jealous in a relationship?
that depends on the exact circumstances. if the pursuer is someone on the caliber of, let’s say, lockhart, severus will perhaps show up for the sake of amusement to see them utterly fail, or to only protect his partner if they may be in danger. he won’t jump into jealousy right away if he sees his partner merely interacting with someone with affection, but if that someone ( really, anyone because he can be petty ) is evidently attempting to make some moves, his first tactic would be to intimidate them at once into losing confidence, making sure they won’t ever make that endeavor again.
so short answer: yes. he does get jealous. sometimes aggressively jealous if he finds an indisputable reason to be. he tries not to let it show when he knows it’s groundless, and perhaps his partner won’t notice, but he has his breaking point if the patterns that bother him continue / escalate. the feeling will find it’s way out into the open sooner or later.
LOVE. who does your muse love?
the deepest and foremost love he has would be for lily. she was the first person who taught him how to love and have empathy for others in the first place. before that, love was an empty term in which he could find no commitment to because of a lack of understanding growing up in a cold household. however, innately, he had loved his mother. though she was a dour women with very little capacity for emotion and affection, she had not traumatized him or crossed any lines in the way his father had . . . and somewhere along the way, he felt something akin to the sentiment of love for dumbledore as well. he cared about albus in a way that exceeded his gradual and unspoken protectiveness he felt over the staff and students at hogwarts. casting the killing curse on albus was one of the most difficult burdens in his life he had to undergo.
MOONLIGHT. what is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?
he isn't a particularly fussy man when it comes to atmospheric pleasures, especially when his partner is involved. what would concern him most would be the very fact that they get to spend time with each other. his ideal date would be a place of security, away from any potential peering eyes, and untainted by tactless extravagance. so he would not be opposed to seemingly ordinary places, like a private library, home, or a uncrowded diner far from the main street with cozy decor and a dash of classic elegance. he would only go out with someone he has known for a while and can truly trust. and even love.
ODE. does your muse have a way with words?
severus in general will choose not to engage in small talk if he can avoid it. but the words he does say have a way of being impactful, whether it would be his witty snark or speeches for the first years that have no right to be that poetic. the sardonic wit would naturally transfer over to how he interacts with his significant other on a daily basis, for better or worse. but from time to time, he would go into profound details of his partner’s remarkable qualities when they truly need it, or during moments of deep intimacy in a quiet space. he would also, on some occasions, leave poems at their desk, send the poems by owls if they are apart, or would simply charm them with an unexpected praise that may make the other blush from the scarcity of it during mundane activities.
@gravely SAID : ❛ There’s a huge difference between what we work for and what we live for. ❜ from jess!
“Maybe for some people.” But he disagreed on a personal note. He couldn’t find a way to justify that kind of separation -- he was who he was, and that was all he was. He wouldn’t be someone for eight hours a day, and someone else the rest of the time. Denying to operate within those conventions of society was one of the things he stood for the most. Green eyes had narrowed, focused in on hers with a stoic intensity, like he might be able to see straight through her. His best friend often wondered if Jughead could read minds, and though that was ludicrous, it wasn’t so far off the mark. He had a way of picking up on subtleties that others failed to notice. Hints, clues, things that he could piece together to at least have a better guess of what they were thinking. His cleverness was severely underestimated by his peers, and by adults who easily dismissed him as a lazy, irksome teenager. But his defiance wasn’t just irksome to others, it was important to him. Down to his very core integrity and identity. Scoffing from the back of his throat, his head tilted to the side, eyes not moving from hers. “Here’s the thing you should know about life. You start making those distinctions, and you’ll quickly realize you don’t know which parts of you are real, and which aren’t.” A jerk upwards of one brow, almost expectantly. It was a rare thing for him to be perfectly understood, even when he thought his meaning was clear. He wondered if she would really hear him. “If I were you I’d try to figure out the answer to that sooner than later.”
