Rusty Lake OCS time!!!
Sophie Magnolia Graves grew up as the first child and daughter of ranchers in Delft, Netherlands, being followed by a younger sister and brother. Sophie always had an interest in anatomy, but that interest was far outshone by her passion for literature. After her required schooling and the death of her father, Sophie began to publish her poems and other miscellaneous writings in the local newspaper, and with her combined income and the money her father left her in his will, she moved to the city, hoping for her writings to be published in more respected papers. In the city Sophie meets the nouveau riche Dalia Sonheart, and soon they begin a secret romantic relationship. Tragedy strikes though when Dalia contracts tuberculosis and dies, leaving Sophie alone and depressed. Sophie sees Dalia in every corner of the city and decides to move to Rusty Lake, a seemingly calm little town where Sophie hopes to heal her broken heart. The lake however allows the corrupted soul of Dalia to return to Sophie, and Dalia asks Sophie to bring her back to life, to give her a new working body. The maddened Sophie agrees, and she begins a slaughtering spree in order to rebuild her lost love. Perhaps this time, she'll be able to save her love and live a life with her free from the judging eyes of Edwardian society.
Face claim: Maude Adams
Enlightened form: Miss. Ram
Job at the lake: She studies and treats corrupted souls at The White Door, including her beautiful, outstanding, mindblowing girlfriend, Dalia. Spoiler alert, she does actually revive and uncorrupt Dalia in the late 1950s. Lesbianism saves the day!
Dalia Maria Sonheart was the fourth child of the nouveau riche Sonhearts, but the only child out of the six to survive into their twenties. This caused her to carry the grief of her siblings deaths and the expectations meant to be split between her siblings on her back, giving her an unrelenting need to show that she deserved to be the one to survive childhood, that she meant something. Her father owned a prospering and booming pistol company, cementing the family firmly in the upper class, and having no surviving brothers, Dalia was expected to marry into a richer family or marry a man knowledgeable enough in manufacturing to inherit the Sonheart Pistols company. Perhaps Dalia could have sucked up her pride and succumbed to society's expectations, hiding her homosexuality and more eccentric traits like her undying love for antiques and trinkets, but she knew she had a chance of a life she would be content in living when she meets the aspiring author, Sophie Graves. They soon begin a secret romantic relationship, and Dalia considers the idea of marrying a man who wants her family's company and having Sophie live with them, allowing herself to have her cake and eat it too. Tragedy strikes though when she contracts tuberculosis, soon succumbing to illness just like her long gone siblings. When Sophie moves to Rusty Lake, Dalia's corrupted soul is able to appear in the mortals realm, and she begs Sophie to revive her, to give her a new working body. Perhaps this time Dalia can live a life on her own terms, right beside her love.
Face claim: Lily Elsie
Enlightened form: Just herself, I don't think she'll get an animal form
Job at the lake: After she is uncorrupted, she works as a sort of archivist for the lake. There are so many objects that are important to the lake (The cubes, the gun that Mr. Rabbit steals from the Vandermeers, the elixir's recipe, etc) that cannot under any circumstances be put in the hands of someone using them for evil, and someone's got to make sure all the trinkets of the lake are in a safe space!
