The proposal makes F totally freeze up in shock. After everything he's been through and everything that's been done to him, you still want him as a partner. Not a toy or a lover, but an equal and beloved partner in every way. It hurts. He wants to be yours more than anything, but it feels like he has nothing precious or pure left to offer. It strips him down to a painfully genuine, emotional reaction, too overwhelmed to hide how affected he is by your offer.

If you're in a serious enough relationship with him to propose, you know everything that's wrong with him, and all the ways he's a fucked up, unstable disaster of a man. And yet, you still want to propose? Gras doesn't know if he's more shocked or devastated. It's not fair. He has a whole meltdown about it, yelling at you and reminding you of everything that makes him hard to deal with. He feels truly loved, and that love hurts almost more than he can bear.

Wait... seriously? No matter how long your relationship has been or how close to you he's gotten, the proposal still comes as a surprise. You know everything about him, and all of his flaws, and you still want to form such a serious, permanent partnership? Yeah, he's getting choked up about it, trying and failing to fight back tears because of how wanted and loved he feels. He'll be showing off that he's yours at every chance he gets, and for once, not joking about it.
