#grant work

Hey guys, Pic here! I’ll keep this short. I have to do a project for my English 101 class. I’m applying for a $100 grant to make my project, the Fanfiction Lesson Plan. Don’t you guys wish they would teach fanfic in school? Wouldn’t that be interesting? Cool? Fun? Exciting? I want to get kids engaged with the content while also learning about writing structure, dialogue, character development, etc. So if you’re a high schooler or your followers are, please please PLEASE consider filling this out and reblogging it. It would mean a lot!!!!

Now that we have a better idea of what is in the correspondence folders (thanks mostly to our project archivist Lee!) I’ve been spending the past few days working on the finding aid. No fabulous views of an account book for now, but I want to remind you of how to check out the progress of the description and digitization. 

You can have a look at the finding aid here- http://archives.litchfieldhistoricalsociety.org:8081/repositories/2/resources/1129. It’s 28 pages currently, but it’s going to continue to expand as I add description, particularly when I start entering correspondence.

If you want to peer inside the account books and ledgers, head to our CT Digital Archive page and peruse the items added so far. There are quite a few, and quite a few others that have been photographed and are in the process of being uploaded by Marcia, our other project archivist.

Monday we got to the hotel at about 10 pm and collapsed. Today we got up late, had breakfast, then a research team meeting, then we scattered to our different schools. Thankfully, two team members took the training for today so that the other two of us could leave early enough to drive home in the daylight.

I am tired from beyondo land. Bed is going to feel good tonight.
