I love this 1953 Smith-Corona Skyriter which belonged to a lady who worked her entire life for Smit-Corona in Syracuse, NY. She bought this when she was 30 years old and kept it for the next 58 years until she passed away at 88. I often wonder what was so special about this machine that made her purchase it inin the first place and keep it for 58 years. What did she write on it? Faith in humanity. A few moths back, a lady contacted me online and said she wanted to purchase a typewriter for her 8 year old daughter. The woman herself has some serious health issues and was on a pretty tight budget. So I prepared a beautiful 1950's Smith-Corona Silent and sent it off with a letter explaining to her I wanted no money but this was a gift from me to her and her daughter.
