#graduation problems

Am I a pretentious bitch for wanting a job post-BA graduation that is worth my four years of hard work? I'm willing to work lower-level positions which are geared towards my desired career path, BUT according to my parents, I'm an asshole for not wanting to get ANY job (i.e. fast-food/ retail/ etc) that will pay off my school loans. They don't care if my degree counts towards nothing, so long as I'm paying off what I've "spent."

[for context I'm a first-gen college student who lives where jobs are scarce and whose parents aren't willing/ can't contribute to my moving elsewhere for a job in my career path]

I knew some wonderful people that I never became close friends with, and in retrospect I kind of wish I did. 

I mean it’s kind of weird for me to ask them out randomly because we never hung out outside of school/work while we were together. And even still I have a hard enough time juggling my free time between my friends as it is.
