#films #poll #about #September had 5 rewatches: Shakespeare in Love‚ Cyrano‚ PotO 25‚ Labyrinth‚ & the Sword in the Stone #I'll be honest: this was a gr8 month for film #gr9 even #every single one of these was a banger & scratched a different itch #I also realised that about 70% of my aesthetic taste was formed by that one establishing shot of the throne room in Sword in the Stone #rich bold warm flats. '60s does mediæval. yeagh #no wonder Camelot hit me like it did; I had been primed to love it #also apparently no-one in the world has heard of And Mrs but I NEED people to at least look up the blurb #it is Aisling Bea up against the legal system trying to marry her dead fiancé! ~90% of the main characters are women!#& the Beautiful Idealised Dead Wife Who Haunts & Guides Our Tortured Protagonist trope is brilliantly inverted by Colin Hanks of all people #it's a feel-good comedy abt grief go watch it!!!#also: Peau d'Âne (Donkeyskin): MAN what is there left to say abt Peau d'Âne #it is beautiful colourful surreal French New Wave. it is what fairytale films wish they looked like.#it is the film whose everyone homework is copying. it's fantastical & fabulous & mediæval & has a helicopter in it. enjoy

i guess its not a big deal, but im not a super big fan of steven universe aus with casts that are completely male or mostly guys. like, gems dont have a gender! I know that and its great! but at the same time, there’s so many shows where there’s not even one girl in sight and to try and combine that with a show that’s basically wlw central seems a bit rude, if nothing else

I mean, if you’re writing an au for a m/m pairing because you like the thought of those characters being from a high tech alien race dedicated to protecting humanity, i feel like maybe the au you’re looking for might be Transformers, and not the one show where “sexless aliens” doesnt automatically default to he/him pronouns

#the one exception to this rlly is this one piece au i like where the writer was like 'yea theyre not all ''girls''' bc some of them r trans'#which is gr8 #gr9 even #also this doesnt apply 2 gemsonas #thats u/ur oc and it is like 100% up to you what to do with the character #adventures of angel
