What is your favorite zine of the moment?Β My favorite zine is No Gods No Mattress
What do you think of when you think of Olympia?Β I think of filling a 50 pound mesh onion bag with giant red macintosh apples and nibbling the biggest red clover flowers Ive ever seen. I think of hitchhiking and a cop bringing me to a shelter instead of a holding cell. I think of hard frosts, and a 1200 mile journey I embarked on with only one penny to my name because a dream told me I would love someone on the other end.
Whatβs your favorite zine hack?Β um, the honor system at the Copy World in Berkeley!
What are you gonna be for Halloween?Β I'm going to be sober, and I'm either going to be Marilyn Monroe, or a be a cute black cat in a velvety pajama onesie cause I'm so cute it's almost painful.β€
What motivates you to finish a zine?Β Well, I'm a capricorn and I am constantly "doing", obsessively taking on projects, and making or meeting goals. Zines have helped my process trauma. As well, each work of art, each project, each zine, each season, is a skin that I shed and emerge from, and, at this point I know no other way of being.
What is your weather prediction for this year's fest?Β It will probably rain, as I will be flying like a big girl and not driving or hitchhiking.
What workshop are you the most stoked about?Β Well, the one combatting fatphobia attracts me because fatphobia is so pervasive and oppressive and I hate it. Also the suicide awareness workshop sounds important, as I have been combatting suicidal ideation since my early teens, write openly about it in my zine, and have lost many many friends to suicide. Also, Nia King's workshop will be amazing...because, well, she is just a genius and absolutely incredible to me.
