#gothic murder

♡ Heroine Otome Game ♡

Even though I just started such a looooong game that is Genshin Impact, I needed something shorter for the moments when I’m super tired and just want to read without much gameplay. A little visual novel then ;) Gothic Murder is a mystery VN with some investigation phases a bit like Ace Attorney when you pick items to prove your theory (but much easier xp), and a tiny bit of romance (two routes for two different love interests). It was short and nice, but I regret some little things that could have made it much better imo :

❤ The OST is great, and since the game isn’t dubbed, it compensates nicely :) ❤ The investigation and confrontation system is simple but enjoyable ❤ The MC is smart and protective

✖ The game is short but the real problem is the pacing ; it goes straight to the point without taking the time to develop more the characters and their relationships. In just 4 days, the heroine manages to reveal lots of family secrets and to find love x) (wtf is she only a maid lol) ✖ Talking about romance, there are 2 routes but with so tiny differences (only 2/3 choices to get those). Also in Ewen’s route, the heroine has so much less moments with him so their romantic ending seems almost forced. ✖ The game was originally for console, and the adaptation on pc isn’t the best ; selecting items with the mouse could be laborious.

I finished it entirely in about 5 hours, I recommend it if you look for a mystery story with non-stop intrigues.

so, I just happened to be on tiktok when I noticed one of my fav users was live, and giving out his friend code to play with fans! I was lucky enough to manage to fill in his code quickly enough and was accepted! I was even 5th in line!

he was looking for dynamax adventures, particularly sword exclusives. I tried to join him in a raid hosted by another member, but when I did, somehow I ended up hosting! I don’t know how it all works, but it did! (because you know, when he absentmindedly locked himself in I certainly wasn’t going to cancel and back out now!)

and so there I was, live on twitch! can you believe it??

I picked a random one and we got lugia. I think he already had it, but it was pretty exciting and special to me. absolutely made my day, and to make up for stealing him away from the intended fight, I sent him over one of my many alolan vulpix with snow warning, which he was very excited for.

after he went to bed, I pulled out that game I started and...boy, what a start.

as much as this game has grown on me, with the story being so interesting to unravel, there are a few things that I just cannot get over. like how it cuts out all audio (essentially, just the background music) for “dramatic effect” but really just makes it awkwardly silent for like 4-6 lines of text, but I especially will never not die every time I see the young lord’s ridiculously tiny bed.

I do have to give it to them though, most of the artwork is very well done. I’m not sure if it makes it more bearable or makes it feel like that much more of a fanfiction, but at least it’s still fun.

and when I finally got outside and heard Isabelle’s morning announcement, it seems she too had a wonderful start to her day!

I must say, I’m riding quite the high still. I could barely focus on getting dressed today!

and I think it showed in my judgement. I saw Marshal inside, but it seems I may have interrupted a secret date! oops~

I wasn’t far in my rounds though when Fauna dropped a bombshell on me. an aurora is coming again tonight. I want to get as many pictures around the island as I can with it, so I can’t miss this one! I have no idea how many I’ll get before it’s all gone after all.

so I sped through my work, pulling up flowers and selling them off as quickly as I could manage,

so that I could go to bed a little earlier, to make sure I’m up in time for the show!

I got back up around 9, but it still wasn’t there. a new letter was though. my old friend had found another art piece I’m missing!

I promptly donated it,

and then went to check it out, only to see Ms. Opal inside!

she was looking at an older statue I got, and at first I was curious.

but her snark just blows me out of the water every time.

I spent a bit with her, but when the next hour ran around, I instantly headed outside and checked the sky. I think I ‘may have missed it though...

but just as I thought that, there it was! clear as day!

I got all the pictures I wanted, and they came out beautifully.

but I ended up spending most of my time with K. K. lider and the others, listening to some choice tunes while watching the most lovely of skies.

but it won’t last forever, and eventually it did fade, and with that, so did I,

back to my room to play the next ch of that game!

Orange will release mystery visual novel Gothic Murder: Adventure That Changes Destiny for PlayStation 4, Switch, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android in the west on September 24 for $11.99 ($10.98 for all chapters on iOS and Android), the developer announced.

Gothic Murder: Adventure That Changes Destiny first launched for iOS and Android in September 2019 in Japan, followed by PC via Steam on February 13, Switch on March 12, and PlayStation 4 on July 29.

January 25th, 2021

I started my early morning with the next chapter of that Gothic Murder game. it started with Ewen, the commoner boy inviting himself into our bedroom to talk to us, and Louisa the asshole other maid who tried to blame us for breaking a thing absolutely ran with it. I was eating breakfast watching this. almost died.

speaking of death, as silly as the dialogue reads at times, and how sort of nonsensical the character reactions are sometimes, I found Irving to be an absolute mood in this chapter.

in fact, I think I’m beginning to actually like him as a character. the whole thing has a delightful twist on the “damsel in distress” trope that I’m really enjoying, and it makes me wish this game had more polish.

I don’t want to spoil it, but this chapter also ended with the funniest scene I think I’ve seen in a long time. which is just all the funnier because half of it isn’t meant to be funny.

I stayed in a little longer than I meant to playing what I think will be my fave chapter of the whole game, but I mean, it’s hard not to when it’s so cold outside.

when I finally got out there, I didn’t get very far before Fauna informed me of exactly who today’s guest is. poor dear...

it didn’t take me long to find him. honestly, I’m amazed he doesn’t freeze to death...

I’m absolutely terrible though. I put off taking care of him and his little dropped phone because I didn’t want to get into those ice cold waters, so instead I cleaned up the flowers.

but all that did was mean I didn’t get back to it until after the sun had set, making the waters even colder than before!

mistakes were made....

but at least he’s ok, and we got it all squared away.

I think I’m gonna stay inside the rest of the day though...
