The seeds of this song were planted in 2020, in a moment of great fear and worry, and they finally came into full bloom at Aaron Dessner's studio in upstate New York just last year. With Aaron's help, we made one of my favorite songs on the record. I often think about how dynamic it is to be so attuned to emotional states of being. How in order to feel the ecstatic of the highs, you must also deeply feel the ache of the lows. This song is for those of us who find ourselves in the depths maybe more often than we'd like.
