Irisbleu! (I hope it's okay I keep calling you this, I feel weird leaving "fic" on the end of your internet name in a direct address). I just wanted to say, don't worry about that Pac Rim prize fic for me anytime soon, 70k in two months is insane and I know what it's like feel the burnout. Write what you feel like writing now, and if that PR fic ever comes to be, I'll still be around! (For real, you're on my alphabetical daily reads list, right between Huffpost and Jezebel!). -- goodboots
You can call me whichever version of the handle you like! Â Once upon a time on LJ, âirisbleuâ was, in fact, the name of my RL account. Â When I decided to make a separate account for my fic, I called it âirisbleuficâ and then changed the name of my RL account to, well, my RL name (or, rather, my first initials and surname all strung together). Â So the old irisbleufic LJ you see now is the first place I ever used the handle, and I liked the sound of it even better than I liked the sound of just âirisbleu.â Â IÂ think of myself as âirisbleufic,â to be honest, because, in a way, it emphasises the stories over my personality. Â Still, I donât really mind when people call me âirisbleuâ (or even just âirisâ).
Hereâs the thing, though: Iâve really been missing PRÂ fic, so your request as far as what you wanted your prize to be couldnât have made me happier! Â The burn-out simply means Iâm not going to write for a week or so, and then Iâll pick up the outline I sketched for your prize piece and actually write it. Â Iâve done half the work already.
