Your Glasses...
Today, I want to take off my glasses
and wear yours.
I want to see the world
the way you see it—
the rain,
the seed,
the soil,
the leaf,
the world itself,
people,
relationships,
and of course… me.
I’ve been looking at the moon and stars
since childhood,
yet I’m still as curious
to see them through your eyes—
like a blind person
learning sight for the first time.
I know it sounds childish.
But these silly little curiosities
don’t feel silly to me,
because they belong to you.
They come from your glasses.
I know I’m difficult—
cold at times,
annoying,
hard to handle.
And yet,
you love me.
I don’t know which silly parts of me
made you fall for me,
but today,
I want to know all of them.
I want to gather those small things,
hold them close,
and never let them go—
because they are treasures to me,
simply because
you loved me through them.
I want to know
who I am to you.
The stars look especially beautiful tonight.
I wish I could share this sky with you.
But maybe I already am—
because if I’m seeing the world
through your eyes,
through your perspective,
then I am seeing it
with you.
