The ball was over. Everyone with a human family had made their way home; their yawns and sleepy nuzzles an indicator of the fun they’d had despite the rather large mishap that had befallen them. Munkustrap walked with his father all the way to the city limits, and was hesitant to leave his side.  Old as he was, and as much as Munkus would love for him to settle down and rest his old bones, the wise, seemingly ageless patriarch of the Jellicle cats still had many, many years of adventures to enjoy, and wasn’t done exploring the world. That said, Munkus could admit to himself that he missed his father when he was gone, and took this long walk to tell him everything that had happened in the year.  Before they parted, he indulged in a few cuddles, feeling young and warm and safe in the familiar fur. Â
The sun was well and truly up by the time he’d returned. He was honestly pretty tired, the events of the day finally taking their toll on him. By the time he approached his den, he’d been walking with a bit of a limp.  Still, he ignored it, sniffing the air in search of his mate. He had to make sure she was doing okay. After everything...After Macavity...And Grizabella...It was a lot to deal with. Â
“Demeter?” It was possible that she’d fallen asleep, and if that was the case he’d wash off the cuts he’d gotten during his battle with Macavity and then cuddle up beside her.
