I didn't know she admitted that she lies. She's working within the system and its working bc ive seen pure romance girlies be tricked into reading her books and liking them. I can't say it's not an admirable feat. Yeah, she writes fiction. It's not romance. She's being generous to herself by saying she straddles a line. There's no straddling. Her books are about female protagonists that are kind of messed up or lost (in a white woman way) and there's a guy there.

I once saw a tiktok of a book reviewer say she loved her books bc they were for people like herself that didn't like romance. And I was like 'yeah...exactly.'

🧪research for fics: let's just say, i'm not known for my propensity to plot extensively. so, any idea where much investigation would be required to start tends to get scrapped pretty quickly. HOWEVER, an integral detail here or there totally gets googled. some examples that immediately come to mind:

😎 fic preference - canon, original, somewhere in between: i'd say i lean more toward canon-adjacent at least but, if the writing is quality and some of my most favorites are involved, i'm pretty enthused no matter what.
