Some days, I do some thinking. Here are the results of this weeks thought process about Meeting Your God(s)/Goddess(es).
Backstory: 20+ years ago, I read a blurb about how some Native Americans down in the southwest were really and truly pissed about some New Age Asshats parading around on rez land completely buck nekkid. One of the arrested nekkid people was apparently crying and saying some drivel aboutΒ βmeeting the Spirits with no barriersβ blah blah blah... I do have basic understand of some tribal nudity taboos and customs. So New Age Asshat is So. Very. WRONG on every level. Also rude af.
Current Activity: Cleaning my house and thinking about some of things I inherited from my mom, and who had them before her. Iβm thinking about the stories of a line of people, what their thoughts might have been, what customs they might have observed and how that filters down to me.
Thought line I came up with:Β God(s)/Goddess(es) are a bit like Great-Grandparents. How you aproach them, depends on your relationship and closeness. If youβre going to visit them, how much effort you put into getting ready for the visit? Is it a formal occasion? Is it a drop by?Β
I sure as fvck am NOT going over there buck ass nekkid crying and whinging on about things.
If itβs a Formal Visit, ya dang skippy Iβm doing All The Formal Things.
If Iβm dropping by, Iβm going to take myself up a notch or two no matter what.Β
If theyβre dropping by to see me, Iβm not going to worry too much. The good chair can be cleared off in a jiffy and I know I can find drinkables in a moment.
