Pro Shell Tip

Use mineral oil to keep shells looking colorful. As shells dry out they look dull and not as colorful as they did on the beach. After I coat shells in mineral oil, I seal them with glossy mod podge. If you want to go the extra mile, you can spray them with glossy acrylic topcoat found in the spray paint section of craft and hardware stores.

*You can coat shells with whatever oil you choose, but cooking oils will spoil and change color over time.
