Head Over Heels! Loser In Love!

Summary: After Idia had recoginized his feelings for you, Idia nervously invites you to test out a modded version of a game as an excuse to see you again. Yet through unspoken feelings, you two are still friends.

“Come over to Ignihyde.” Deleted. Too blunt.

“Hey, I need help with a game-mechanic.” Deleted. Lame excuse. 

“Wanna test something on co-op?” He sends, before overthinking again.

When you reply, “I’ll be there in five minutes.” He almost threw his phone at the wall. Five minutes?! That’s not even enough time to hide his snack wrappers or clear the boxes of Precipice-Moirai merchandise inside the closet!

 He sighed hopelessly, distressed by his situation. It wasn’t long ago that he realized his feelings for you, reminding himself to always keep a distance to himself. Yet, he’d find himself missing you for nights without end, keeping himself awake just by the thought of you. 

He sat on the edge of his bed. “... What the hell am I gonna do?” He asked himself as he internally berates his own impulsivity.

By the time you knock, he opens his door, pretending as if he wasn’t just speed-cleaning his whole dorm. His closet is surrounded by boxes filled with different types of merchandise, his bed, unkept. And the floor was still littered with crumbs. 

“...I hope I’m not early?” You replied. Promptly entering his room before Idia closes the door behind you.

“No. You’re exactly.. On time.” He before gesturing to his chair for you to sit in while he stands behind you.

Two monitors faintly glow blue, plastering a co-op lobby screen in front of you. You read the title, "StarCrossed Valley” A farming life simulation game that also works as a semi-dating sim. 

You look at Idia’s direction, “... Isn’t this a single-player game?” You asked.

“Yeah, I modified it a little though. I- uh- modified it where you can co-op the story… It's totally experimental. Yeah, totally for research too.” 

You smiled, “So, I’m your test player?”

He nods, his eyes darting towards you and the screen; like he’s too afraid to stare too long at neither. His heart beat grew louder by the minute to the point he could hear it himself. You were this man’s weakness point. A point so weak that it was dangerous for him to just be around you now. He felt like a lovesick loser in one of his dating games he often played. 

A few minutes pass by, the room filled with a comfortable silence. The clacking of the keyboard with the murmurs of instructions as Idia goes over the modded version of the game; sitting down at the edge of his bed with his tablet in hand. Then, your in-game avatars meet together underneath the pixelated night sky.

‘There’s a new interaction event.” He looked in your direction, “You can either talk to your partner" he mumbles, “... or hold their hand.”

You glance at him, the faint blue light of the monitor hits his face. “Well, what happens if you pick it?” You asked quietly.

His hands hovered over his tablet, “Oh- I didn’t expect you’d ask that.” He sputtered.

“You didn’t?”

“No… Because I already know what I’d choose.” 

You press your key as you can hear the faint tap of his finger pressing his tablet simultaneously. On screen, the two characters hands reach out, meeting each other beneath the stars. 

The room is silent with the faint hum of the PC. He swallowed his tongue, “O-Oh uh, it works."

Smiling, you replied, "Yeah, it does!"

A small tinge of pink appeared at the ends of Idias hair, looking away bashfully with an overwhelming feeling of bewildering happiness stirred within him. The kind he’d only seen in stories and coded into video games. The kind he had never thought to experience before meeting you. Really, how will he handle these feelings with his newfound feelings?

An All Hallows Eve With You

Summary: It’s the day before Halloween. The Savanaclaw dorm revels with laughter and firelight. Yet, a well-familiar beastman keeps to himself. You and Leona know each other well. It is up to you to perceive whether you are friends, dating, or something else.

The Savanaclaw dorm was louder than usual that night. The raucous laughter and the crackling of the bonfire outside echo faintly through the stone walls; celebration and mischief in the air.

But Leona’s room was like an island apart. Lit with a flicker of a single lantern. You find him laying on his bed, as always with his arm over his eyes; his tail flicking lazily. He doesn’t stir when you walk in. 

“You’re skipping the festivities” You murmur, closing the door behind you.

“Tch. Don’t see the point of dressing up. Half of the school’s already jumpy around me as is.” He replied, voice muffled by his arm. 

You smile softly, setting a small pumpkin shaped pastry on the table. A peace offering or maybe an excuse to be near him. He doesn’t look at it. You know he probably won’t eat it either. You sit beside him anyway.

Outside, someone howls, laughter or perhaps a ghostly echo. The silence between the two of you hums, alive and waiting. Until Leona shifts, lowering his arm, eyes half-lidded and impossible to read as the lantern glows.

“You don’t scare easily, huh?” 

“Not really.” You replied.

“Guess that’s why you’re still here.” 

You blink. He’s looking at you now. For once, there’s no teasing or edge in his tone; but a loneliness that sounds all too familiar.You could say something then. You could tell him what’s been weighing in your chest for months. That you wish he’d stop hiding behind that lazy drawl, the desire to see him let down his guard, or to remind him you care.

But you don’t. The words stick, swallowed by the soft crackle of smoke curling through the room. Instead, you lean back, and his tail brushes your wrist. Neither of you move away.

“You say that like you don’t want me around.”

“Didn’t say that.” His tone is flat, but the pause after it says more than he means to. The lantern crackles softly. The scent of smoke and dry grass hangs in the air. 

“Do you ever think,” you murmur, “you make it too easy for people to leave?”

“... People leave no matter what you do.” He turned away, his voice quieter now with a tone that sounded like regret.

His eyelids lower again, and you watch as he drifts somewhere between waking and dreaming. The silence grows soft around you. You rest your hand lightly against his in a show of comfort. Surprisingly, he doesn’t pull away. But when you whisper his name, he pretends to not hear. 

Later that night, when you finally doze beside him, Leona opens his eyes again. The lantern light trembles against his face, turning gold to ash. He watches you for a long while, the rise and fall of your chest, the faint smile still clinging to your life, before he lets his own expression soften. Just barely.

“...Happy Hallow’s Eve.” He whispered under his breath, too quiet for you to catch.

And then he closes his eyes, letting the words vanish with the candlelight, like every other feeling he’ll never say aloud.

Hello everyone, this is part 2 of my little scenario October series. Leona is something I struggle a lot with writing (despite his similarities with Idia). So it took me a while, I attempted to show his issues by using subtext AKA his depression, self-esteem, loneliness, etc. However, I found it underwhelming in the end. Maybe it's my writer's block? I don't know, but I hope you enjoyed it regardless of my dissatisfaction.

Watching A Horror Movie With You-Riddle Rosehearts

Scenario: He (probably) never watched a horror movie in his life due to his rough upbringing. But after your efforts, you finally bring him to watch a horror movie with you. And so, as the night unfolds, chaos ensues.

Platonic leaning but you can see it as romantic if you'd like.

It took days to coax Riddle into watching a horror movie with him. After all, horror movies were "unnecessary exposure to incredible violence” as he stated. However, with your persistence and with his curiosity. You had won in the end.

Now, you and Riddle sit right beside each other, popcorn in hand in pure darkness. Nothing else but the light of the TV emits. After hearing Riddle, yes the Riddle Rosehearts had never experienced a horror movie in his life; this opportunity was far too tempting to pass up. His posture was so impeccably straight, his hand folded on his lap, his eyes were fixed on the screen with a sense of caution and composture. 

He glanced at your direction, trying to sound calm though his voice wavered slightly, “So, is this the movie you insisted upon us?” 

You nod in response, “Of course, Riddle. You’re gonna love this, it’s all anyone’s been talking about lately” You turn on the TV and so, the chaos begins. 

To Riddle, it was an absolute freak-show. He’d jump at every sudden noise, then immediately mask it with a critique or lecture; pretending as if he wasn’t startled at all. Each scene became an opportunity for him to “analyze” the movie's poor logic. 

“Thats preposterous!” He exclaimed. “No one in their right mind would go into a basement after hearing that noise!” He stood up abruptly, almost spilling the popcorn to the floor.

You held in your laugh, watching Riddle going back and forth was definitely much more entertaining than the movie itself. As the scenes grew darker and indefinitely gruesome, his criticisms became increasingly dramatic. 

“The lighting is atrocious, how could anyone tell what's happening? And- And the sound design!” He stammers as he points to the TV dramatically,  “Absolutely manipulative! Using noise to frighten their audiences-!” Each outburst was followed by a small flinch or a sharp intake of breath. Trying to remain his refined composure was incredibly challenging. 

Halfway through, he muttered under his breath. “Well, this is educational… in a way of poor decision making..” His face was painted with misery, as if all the life was sucked out of him. 

By the end of it all, he slumped against the couch. His chest rising and falling faster than usual, and his posture was far from the straight-back poise he carried. You could practically see how much effort it took him to maintain his dignity while also visibly shaken. Finally, as the credits rolled, he returned to his former self. His back straightened as he cleared his throat. 

“Well… that was certainly… enlightening.”

You chuckled and slightly nudged him, “You mean, frightening?” 

He gave you a stiff glare, arms crossed.  “I assure you, it was merely educational. Nothing more, nothing less.”

And yet, as he got up to leave; just as he swore that film had no effect on him. He glanced at the TV screen once more. You’d know he’ll have nightmares tonight, but he would never admit that. And honestly? That contradiction made him all more entertaining to watch. 

Part 1 of scenario: Watching A Horror Movie With You This is an eight-part scenario series featuring the dorm leaders and Skully to celebrate the SSR release of his. I plan to make these short, lengthening about 500 words maximum and possibly below that. I'm currently in pain so I don't think I can go beyond that right now, but I was so eager to write I ended up staying awake for hours. I also just wanna get out of comfort zone, I am too used into writing Idia's character and had never bothered to write other characters.
