Mouldering in a gloomy place #FencepostOfTheWeek
Found some lovely fungi in Glenan Wood while looking for archaeological remains. This one is the flaming scalycap - Pholiota flammans, growing on rotting conifer stumps in what is now a burgeoning birch thicket.
Green elf-cup fungi - Chlorociboria Sp.

Giant candlewax lichen - Ricasolia amplissima - looking lush in this mild, wet winter weather.
I love it for its green, waxy lobes -
...but also for the brown, bushy cephalodia which have a translucent, remarkably jelly lichen-like quality.
