had some thinky thoughts with the Redux AU (yes I'm still working on it yes I'm still writing AUS8 I'VE BEEN BUSY OKAY), mainly with just the base forms. Charmix gets more or less a minor update, Glamourix gets to be an actual design change even if minor, and Enchantix is just the wings because if I don't spite Enchantix at every opportunity who even am I lmao. fairly simple, I ain't in the mood of doing full blown new bases, so yeah!

To any of y’all that are surprised, no you are not. we both know damn well this is an almost yearly occurence lmao. I won’t bore you with the details but the big disclaimer is “no, the actual story of the AU isn’t getting rebooted, I just want to retouch the designs as I always do”. CAN’T PROMISE THIS’LL BE THE LAST TIME BUT HEY LMAO.
The only main change is that Glamourix now adds the bag (which holds Essence Dust, the first taste of it) and adds details to the wings. Glamourix remains the actual level required to obtain higher transformations, of course. This is mainly just some color adjustments and not much else, really! This is your yearly reminder that I’m a Pink Bloom Stan. I also wanted to play it a bit looser with my previous design guidelines for the first 2 forms. Not much else to say but enjoy, I guess?
Tritannus’s re-re-redesign! The unpopular fave of mine. Copypasted info below! As a reminder, he’s the Sorcerer of Toxins. Line up in both pictures is regular outfit, Glamourix, Harmonix, Sirenix.
Tritannus Achilles van Amstel is a merman and primarily resides on the seas, but like all merfolk he can shapeshift himself some legs from time to time. As the Sorcerer of Toxins, he developed a knack for manipulating oil and other hazard-y substances. His trident has a Dragonscale of Water, and he’s in Glamourix at the start.
Tritannus is the older twin between him and Nereus, but Nereus always was the favorite for Neptune. Both him and Tressa were left to the sidelines quite a bit to focus on Nereus, and both knew from very early in their lives that he was gonna be the Crown Prince. Ligea did try to give them attention and love, but while Tressa did accept it, Tritannus was more reluctant. Nereus did try to get along with him, but it was hit-or-miss most of the time. He didn’t hate his brother, not really, but he did hate his father. A lot. Outside of royal duties, he was known for his dedication to training, originally setting out to be the general of the Mareian Army before dropping that shortly before the coronation event, and like Tressa he’s an expert fighter.
During Nereus’s proper coronation as Crown Prince six years before S5, Tritannus (alongside other merfolk that were not happy with said decision either, for various reasons) struck an attack on Neptune, and he almost succeded in stabbing him, but he was stopped by his mother’s magic and was inmediately sentenced to the Highpeak Prison near the Omega portal for 55 years. His anger over his father has only grown stronger during his current 6 years inprisoned, but he struck gold when not only the Trix were moved near his cell, but the recently reopened Ocean Gates brought Earth’s pollution with them. With his mastery over poison, he managed to free himself and the Trix, seeing them as useful. He knows he can’t beat his father with just him and three witches, but he knows of a certain power in Infimare that would help him…
What? Drops having zero self-restraint? It’s more likely than you think.
But yeah, I decided to redo the base since I wasn’t happy with the previous one, and plus I wanted to streamline everyone again since over the months how I draw their faces and hair and stuff changed and like, I don’t have to work on lore for these anymore so hey! free chance. For now only the Winx, Winx-adjacent (Dia and Roxy) and the guys will get new bases, so be on the lookout for those later. Some significant changes would be that Musa’s now more obviously buff, as well as an eye color adjustment to both her and Aisha.
Not many changes to the outfits themselves outside of streamlining and adjusting details, and stuff like that. You also get two bonuses - Aisha’s transformations in her mermaid form (a seldom-seen event since actually transforming into a mermaid drains her quite a bit), and Shadow Bloom’s look.
Lorewise it’s still the same - Charmix is unlocked automatically at 13/14, Glamourix is earnt after facing hardship or overcoming a personal emotional conflict, Enchantix after perfoming a selfless act of sacrifice for other’s lives.
Not all forms will be fully updated (the 5 White Circle forms for example will not get adapted to the base since they’re not that relevant to begin with), but I do want to use this base for AT LEAST the remainder of the year. Let’s just hope I finish the AU up until S8 so I DON’T feel the need to redraw everything again. Which is harder than it sounds lmao.
I took a single glance at the previous bases for the transformations and OH MY GOD THEY LOOK HIDEOUS. So! An update to the base and a (incredibly minimal for the most part because I am NOT reworking literally every single transformation AGAIN that is just TOO MUCH WORK I AM ONLY A SINGLE TALL DROPS.
Anyways! Here is everyone’s S1-S3 forms, with slight retouches! I changed Aisha’s pallete slightly since it was too monochrome before, and everyone’s sandals got turned into these... sock sandal boot things... since I have plans for Harmonix (which will get a bigger overhaul) and I wanted the sandals to be for that form. You can also finally see the Essence Dust vials in the outfits!

How did the winx earn their transformations in the au?
This be long, under a cut it goes
Aside from Bloom everyone got Charmix when they turned 13, it’s an automatic thing that is still fervently researched. Everyone always just yells CHARMIX the very first time they transform, it’s a tradition and it helps the magic to properly channel the magic. It’s still necessary to yell CHARMIX the first few times, but after a month or so one can transform with just a thought, but some still do yell the name of the form because why the hell not, it’s fun, it lets you scream, and it’s a good way to make people underestimate you letting you get the drop on them. Bloom transforms for the first time when she’s already 18 so for her it took a bit longer to properly stabilize, and she first transformed during the fight with the Trix in Magica City during early S1, freeing herself from the ice and burning a few trashcans.
Glamourix was more individualized and it took the longest for all the girls to gain out of any transformation. Flora gets it first during the end of S1 by managing with the last of her energy (since she was just done defending Alfea from the Army of Decay) to free Mirta from her pumpkin-ness. Bloom was next by regaining confidence in her magic as well as finally regenerating her full Dragon Aura during the S1 finale. Aisha gets it next by surviving falling off a goddamn upside-down castle at the start of S2, as she was low on magic at the time and her getting Glamourix was the only reason she managed to get to Alfea in the first place. Stella gets it shortly after by trusting Amentia on her promise to protect Brandon while she goes back to the surface to heal off her injuries with full natural light, and once recharged she obtains it fully. Tecna gets it next, by refusing to give up during a battle with some monsters when searching for the other girls as well as facing her stubborness as a good thing. Musa gets it last and WAY later than the rest, as she gets it during the Red Fountain concert via apologizing to her dad and brother, as she has been rude to them and ignoring them all year for her own selfish reasons, not being fair to them.
Enchantix is... more or less the same as in canon but with some tweaks. Aisha gets it first by healing her dying aunt rather than her eyes after getting blinded by Valtor, since she know she could get healed eventually but her aunt wouldn’t get a second chance. Stella gets it next by defending her father and future step-father from a dragon attack, forcing her broken ring to transform and draining her magic completely in a light shield. Her earning Enchantix also reforms and transforms the sceptre, turning into the Crosier of the Cosmos. Musa is next by taking a hit meant for Galatea while escaping the burning library, her wings getting destroyed in the process. Of course, earning Enchantix reformed them, but she wasn’t able to fly fully for a few days after the fact. Flora is next by saving her sister, not many changes here, and Tecna also gets it by closing the Omega portal getting trapped into Omega in the process. Bloom actually gets a full Enchantix in the AU, by saving Maia from a convergence spell from the Trix taking full damage for it and almost actually dying.
Already explained how they got Believix in the AU in a different post!
For Sophix and Agapix (Lovix/Amorix), the girls actually kind of steal the form? They’re artificial transformations made by Diana and Aurora for their subjects guarded in shrines made in their image deep in their respective locations (The Amazon Jungle and Antartica) in the shape of a flower or a crystal. The Winx steal Sophix to help counter the men destroying the forest as well as to stop Diana’s attempts of actually murdering them. As for Agapix, they actually are given the form by Aurora so they can go unnoticed in her land, as Nebula had taken over and she needed their help to dethrone her.
Harmonix is earnt more or less the same way as in canon - the girls do a trial for it in Graynor and manage to pass it without using their magic even once, earning the form. Sirenix follows the same way as canon, doing the Sirenix quest.
As for the other transformations, you can actually read the respective posts for the designs, since I do cover them in full there! Just search Valiantix, Pleiadix, Silvestrix, Lustrix or Cosmix on my blog!
With Winx: Guida al Mondo Magico out (I REALLY WANT THAT BOOK HOPEFULLY I’LL GET IT SOON), and after reading its section on the transformations, I wanted to do some reworking of the function of each form, while not actually re-redesigning everything all over again. I will make some tweaking on everything that has been designed already, but it won’t be a big update or anything on the outfit themselves. Anyways, onwards to what this entails, and for why are there three forms being showcased atm!
A magi has three basic forms, that make them stronger as they evolve.
Charmix is the first form, a simplistic outfit with tiny wings. It is mostly monochrome save for a few details, and it enhances the user’s magic as well as expanding its reservoir of energy. Charmix is automatically obtained when turning 13.
Glamourix is the evolution of Charmix, and it serves as a middlepoint between it and Enchantix. The outfit becomes more elaborate and the wings become slightly larger. Hait becomes slightly longer (the actual length varying depending on if the magi is comfortable with certain lengths) as well as getting colored tips. Glamourix is obtained by overcoming a harsh situation, or by acknowledging/getting over a perceived flaw of character. It expands the magic reservoir of the user, as well as making them fly faster. A Glamourix magi can attempt to obtain higher transformations, but it’s considered way harder than attempting it as an Enchantix magi.
Enchantix is the final basic transformation and it’s the unnofficial requirement for a magi’s graduation. The outfit becomes more ornate and airy, and any footwear is replaced by decorated sandals. Detached sleeves and colour gradations are common, as are hair color changes. Wings become bigger and more elaborate as well, and the inner patterns reflect the fairy’s power and title. Hair becomes longer and changes color, and a little jewel-like vial appears in their outfit that holds Essence Dust, raw magic given physical form used for spells and healing. Enchantix is obtained by showing incredible selflessness in a delicate or dangerous situation. Enchantix makes obtaining higher forms easier, as well. While it’s stronger than Glamourix, its speed is between Charmix and Glamourix.
All of this will be elaborated further on future AU Screaming post (which will start from scratch, changing to AU Detailing posts) alongside the rest of the transformations, especially now that I have a point of reference for all of them, so for now, enjoy!
