Just wanna know, in chapter 96, as Sokka tipped the sword on Azulas neck, what die he plan to do actually? He didn't know theyd end up banging, so with wich thoughts did he hold is sword to Azula, did he want to kill her?
I had hoped the chapter did a decent enough job of explaining his thoughts by the time he holds her down…
Granted Azula lashed out claiming she was going to kill him and the sort, but I’d hope most readers would know she wouldn’t have pulled through with that. If the situation had ended the other way around, Sokka disarmed, Azula aiming the sword at his neck, she probably would have dropped her sword as well. And just as she didn’t really want to kill him, regardless if she claimed otherwise at first, neither did he.
At the time he “defeats” her, he’s pretty much holding her down just in hopes to stop this nonsense. She’s not in her best mental state, and he only meant to stop her. He’d had enough of the endless conflict between them, and all he wanted at that point was to calm her down. But when things came full circle and she seriously backed off he couldn’t hold himself back. He throws the sword away and gives in because his feelings are overwhelming him completely. He can’t hold them in anymore.
So no, he wasn’t really out to kill her, she wasn’t really out to kill him. They played it that way briefly as they fought, but if worst came to worst, there’s no way they would do something like that to one another. They are pretty intense xD and the situation they’re in is anything but easy, but while there are sooo many instances where things look hopeless for these two, they’re too in love at this point to actually do anything like that. Losing one another is not an option for them.
