The whole point of that scene was her not being honest, right up until the end. She is sincere for a brief moment... Then poof it's gone and we never see it again ^^;
chat noir couldnt take marinette seriously during glaciator 2 because whenever she said "buttercup" all he could think about was. the green one.

i finally made it to the ICONIC dear buttercup scene and episode… every bit as perfect as promised i love frustrated/angry marinette with chat who is still whipped even though this is marinette not ladybug and i LOOOVE her throwing the note away at the end and saying her own thing while also echoing her true thoughts abt chat as well as making chat realize maybe lb could love him for HIMSELF not the image he puts on
