Learned about sphinx moths and now I'm giggling about the idea of a literal moth sphinx lol.
"What goes upon 20 legs in the morning, none at noon, and six in the evening?"
I love this concept!!!
I didn’t know hawk moths went by ‘sphinx moth’ too - they’re so pretty. We spotted one in our garden once and I was completely entranced by it!

I must be a light in the night. Or I can't explain where all these moths came from...
In fact, I'm not a light. I'm a caffeine addicted artist that doesn't sleep at night😂
#3800 - Phyllosphingia dissimilis - Buff-leaf Hawkmoth
A brief detour from NZ to China, where my boss spotted this hawk moth at the Great Wall, some 50km north of the center of Beijing.
Originally described as Triptogon dissimilis in 1861, by Russian naturalist Otto Vasilievich Bremer, but moved to its own genus in 1897 by English naturalist Colonel Charles Swinhoe.
The caterpillars are known to feed on various trees in the walnut family, and on Japanese Cherry. The two subspecies are found in open parklands and forest edges from NE India to Japan.

Not to defend the villains but akumatizations as per the show aren't really harming anyone. Neither Hawk Moth nor Lila really force it onto anyone and it's been established you CAN break free from akumas. They want you to accept the power they're offering, they're waiting for the greenlight by the person. In fact if you really look at the akumatization scenes many gladly accept the power! They're sad/mad etc and want to get revenge themselves. They use the powers for personal gain. Just cause someone tells you to do something, you have the will to refuse and they're not standing next to them with a gun at their heads. Neither Hawk Moth nor Chrysalis told their villains to wreck havoc or get their revenge, they can do whatever they want as long as they get the ladybug & black cat miraculous.
Pharaoh for example performed that ritual cause he wanted to. Zombizoe spread love as she wanted. Mr Pigeon wants to avenge his pigeons and get back at anyone who told him to get a life. Party Crasher got mad he wasn't invited to his fav celeb's party he stalks. Evillustrater literally set up a date. Sublimation literally didn't do any harm and only went after the real pain in the ass LB who broke her daughter's legs + ruined her sponsorship chances and after Roth yet guess whom the heroes defend? Let's not even get to Gold Record, the pinnacle of greediness or Glaciator who's basically a toxic shipper who goes after anyone who disagrees with his ship (reminds me of someone). El Toro de Piedra wanted to force his son to commit crimes. So on, you get the picture.
And after the magic ladybugs repair everything as if nothing happened. It's also established though messy that they forget whatever happened - though as said messy cause there are people who remember then others don't so who knows. Anyway nothing happens to them, no physical or mental harm done. The butterfly holder offers them the weapon but the people are the executor. They know the person who offers them power is a villain, they have the option to refuse to cooperate, they choose to for their own personal gain. They use the butterfly holder just as much as a pawn as they use them if you will. It's a codependency.

This is why Lila/Cerise is the better Hawk Moth.
