i mean.
like.
so what's parker doin to that bingo card
@gir-posting
to NOBODY'S surprise, especially my own, I've gotten 3 asks mentioning parker. its a beautiful world.....
I love parker so so so dearly but HE DOES have a small checkmark by bastard because. lets me real sometimes he can be a little shit. but I adore it every single time is the thing
I was also tempted to put a small check by "canon isn't real if I don't look at it" becauseeeee . I certainly have Feelings about his realization ending. but that also goes for a big handful of the others' realization endings TO BE HONEST. ive just got a bunch of feelings about this guy
hmmmmmmmmm, tell me about iris wilson, and then iris hawthorne for funsies :D
eeeee thank you so much for this iris double feature!!!
iris wilson!! my dotter
First impression - i thought her design was ADORABLE and i really love how she just appeared at the end of 1-3 and then scampered away lmao. (i went into tgaa knowing a good amount of spoilers but i wasn't expecting her to finally grace me with her visage and then promptly leave lmao).
Impression now - i reeeeeeeally love iris, i'm playing through 1-5 now and i'm just basking in the amount of character revelations she's already going through due to the case/the baskervilles thing. SHE'S. SO. SWEET SHEJUSTWANTSAFRIEND. being an orphaned child genius with a phd has just got to be an incredibly lonely existence and i love how she's so eager to dive into friendships with gina/susato/ryuunosuke. she's absolutely one of my fav characters and i'm loving her character arc
Favorite moment - so far it's in 1-4 when ryuu and susato first go to 221b and iris deduces tf out of them with the chipperest smile lol
Idea for a story - i want her to teach wagahai so many tricks. iris could probably teach that cat how to do a dance of deduction if she wanted to.
Unpopular opinion - i'm so bad at these lmao. perhaps my unpopular opinion is that SHE SHOULD BE SKINNIN' HER KNEES AT RECESS but she's probably happier being a doctor LOL
Favorite relationship - hurley!!! i haven't gotten to the part where she calls him daddy but i know it's comin' and i know i will cry. i feel like sholmes is raising her with the listening ear and love he might not have been afforded growing up and they've both benefited greatly from it
i also really like iris and susato together!!! long-lost sisters π not only do they play so adorably together (susie is such a cute nickname lol) but they can relate to each other so deeply and i think that must be really healing. whenever iris talks about how all her life she's wanted to meet her dad and you can see susato going through it with empathy it tears my heart to pieces.
Favorite headcanon - (i haven't finished the series yet so idk if this is canon or just a thing that fanartists collectively agreed on-) i really like the idea that sholmes styles her hair in the bows every morning π like he's been doing fun things with her hair all her life π and that by the time she's 10 she can probably do it herself but maybe she likes having those early-morning conversations with hurley so she lets him keep doing it π help i love them
and then omg i still have not played trials & tribulations so i feel like i cannot give iris hawthorne the opinions she deserves π i only know dahlia lmaooooo. but what i DO know is that my first impression of her was:
& she is beautiful and very cute with feenie and i'm sure i will eat up every morsel of her relationship with dahlia because i live for family drama like that LOL
look at these doofs
magnificent beasfts,,,,,,

I love this movie so much, even the pacing of it is amazing; the way it starts all spooky and mysterious, and then it rolls into Allen and Sarah's intro that seems like it is going to be an emotional coming-of-age story but goes right back to spooky/mysterious (and almost full-on horror for a sec there when Allen gets sucked into the game), and AGAIN we are given a time-skip to be introduced to new kids... so it sorta tricks us into thinking that this is a pattern, we'll just keep seeing new groups of children being terrorized by this game... HOWEVER, Judy and Peter wind up bringing Allen back, and then they find Sarah, the all their stories continue hand-in-hand. I love the way these four characters play-off each other, because in some ways Judy and Peter are more adaptable and "mature" than these two adults, but at the same time Allen and Sarah have simply had more life experience than the kids... and their experiences have been so DIFFERENT! Allen grew up in a jungle world inside a board game, while Sarah spent her life being treated like she was crazy. She KNEW a bunch of African bats chased her down the street, but had no proof, and nobody believed her about Allen, so she had to convince herself it never happened. Allen has to re-adjust to life in "the real world", when he hasn't been around people for a LONG time, and all he wants to do is come home to his parents, but they're GONE. So, in a weird way, Allen and Sarah haven't actually "grown up" in these years, they've been emotionally stuck (for different reasons but the same cause) since the night they first played the game. She can't deal with stress very well, and just wants to ignore/avoid problems. Allen acts selfish, because that's what he's had to do to survive... but now, they start looking after Judy and Peter, and it makes them BOTH finally grow; Allen gets softer with how he talks to the kids (because now he knows what HE really needed to hear as a child, when his father was too harsh with him), and Sarah stops running away from danger so she can protect the children. Meanwhile, Judy and Peter have both become withdrawn or disillusioned with adults after their parents died, which is why he stopped talking and why she started lying. They had to grow up fast, but they're still young and need help. Dealing with the game problems with Allen and Sarah puts them in a situation where yes- they prove how capable they are, but it also forces them to rely on other people. Judy and Peter finally connect with other people, honestly and openly. Oh, and then we've got the parallel of the same actor who played Allen's father ALSO playing the Villain Van Pelt, the theme of the drums playing that ONLY can be heard by people who will definitely play the game, and all the bonkers effects the game has one the world... yeah, I LOVE this movie!
Thanks for asking~
