i want to talk about the great depression stuff in hadestown i want to talk abt characters keeping chickens and the old timey laundry stuff they used and how i headcanon that to seem cool eurydice tells orpheus yeah she rode in a boxcar once except she doesnt mention that she didn't actually scoot to peak out at the view because riding the rails is so scary its so so scary she hates it she'll just fucking walk never mind
