Sooo, Jake just had a dude deported for personal reasons? In this day and age, in this political climate, that’s the side of the deportation issue this show chooses to take? We get a weak suggestion that Jake is taking an extreme measure, but no real opposition to it on moral grounds, and then the whole thing becomes a story about how Jake shouldn’t interfere in Charles’ family life? The DEPORTATION thing gets swept under the rug, because hey, Gintars WAS committing a minor non-violent crime, after all! It’s fine if the lead character on our show gets him deported! This is an episode about friendship!
